Find me that example of Dominant Club side at Domestic or European Football and I'll make you right.

Until then, enjoy your little fantasy

No evidence to suggest Man City are as good as Barca in any shape or form. Therefore, fantasy on your behalf. But please, indulge yourself. Allow us to enjoy actual titles and EC won though :)

    Exactly. Look at Man City.

1990/91 Man City come 5th, Man Utd come 6th. Over the next five years City spend more than Utd on players and wages. Over the same period Utd won six trophies. City got relegated.

Some idiot chairmen can spend money and win, others can spend big money and get their club relegated with no trophies. But a great manager and team will always be there or thereabouts regardless of money - just look at how Utd and Arsenal have compared to Chelsea and Liverpool this season.

You appear to be putting the cart before the horse. Once a team gets to the top of their league their players (and their agents) immediately start looking for more money. Look at Porto in 2004 - a team assembled for a few million quid gets to the top of Europe and wins the treble. Next season all the players are off to clubs with more money.

In fact, I would say money cannot create your own long term success and dominance, it can only damage the success of other teams until you are able to overtake them. Losing Nasri hurt Arsenal far more than it hurt City - Nasri made a fairly negligible contribution to City's success, but effectively removed Arsenal as contenders, and ditto Fabregas. That's why Chelsea failed to achieve dominance through money - once the other teams had adapted to their spending Chelsea were unable to hold them back any more, and so dropped back cos the team wasn't good enough and the managers weren't given any time.

    Exactly.

Chelsea have also fallen victim of another key point I was making - no strong and consistent management since Mourinho, and no league titles since he left. They've become a very good cup team - which is what they were pre-Mourinho. Well done to them on the EC tonight btw.

Ditto. You seem unable to refute counter arguments. Although interestingly, you did refute your own argument with Ajax. Well done you.

Valdes, Puyol, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro, Alcantara, Fontas, Messi....

We have to discount Pique and Fabregas - since they bought these players 'back'.

    Dominant European Team <ok>

I do believe that all these players get paid wages though, so they might not count since they don't play for free. The swines! <grr>
