McEachran will soon return to his parent Club,Chelsea, after what has been a disappointing loan spell.

Wages and fees for the six months loan amount to £1,700,000.00.

His actual playing time was 215 minutes, equating to £7,906.98 per minute.

This shows how easy it is to fritter away money once a Club gets into The Premier League.

This figure is quoted in an article in Daily Mail,Sport section.

I read many months ago that a loan fee of £1,000,000.00 was agreed. That would leave £700,000.00 wages for six months, equating to something in the region of £27,000.00 per week.

    Madness,if true.

Don't think he'd be on £27k a week with us, plus I would think that if he was Chelsea contribute towards it. You are right about money going rather quickly in this league. We got burned with this one.

Rodgers took a chance based on this lad's reputation. He obviously has talent but really didn't quite fit with us in the end.

He does have talent, and is one of Chelsea's best midfielders. Unfortunately, he is not better than our midfielders. He admitted being surprised at just how good our players were, and I think that, in Joey and Leon, he just found himself up against superior players playing in his position. We've constantly underestimated our players, and, on this occasion, I think BR did too.

How can you say that ? you have hindsight on your side, the club made a decision to bring him to us just in case we needed him as a backup, the fact we got burned on it is a shame, but these things happen!

Josh came a short way from one of his first interviews when he arrived .. to the effect that he " Expects to start most games , if not all " .... Moreira , McEachran & Lita highlight the fact that Buck's not perfect , but then again who is . About 3.5 million down the tubes in transfers , would rather of have had another Graham .

Every transfer's a risk. Rodgers is winning most of his bets.

Think we should be giving this lad less of a hard time, don't want him leaving with a sour taste in the mouth. We could pick him up on the cheap one day and he's got time on his side to improve.

Agree 100% , he was a great player when he came & a great one when he left , just wasn't the right player for what unfolded after January . If things went south after January we would have seen a whole lot more of him but he got caught up in the old " If it ain't broke , don't fix it scenario .

You win some and you lose some. In January he brought in a relative unknown from a mid level German club and a player hotly tipped to be one of the best midfielders in the country and one of the worlds biggest clubs. Im just glad one of them paid. The money wasted on McEachran probably doesnt look that bad if we even it out with what I am only speculating was a lot less to get in Siggy

What if we had a spate of bad injuries ? He came on loan as cover and luckily we didn't need him!

No doubt he was a mistake but if we had lost Joe or Leon Josh would have done a decent job.

His biggest problem is lack of work rate, he doesn't like doing the hard graft and that's probably why he did not get games at Chelsea or here.

Would Chelsea really pay a 19 year old that much per week. I think those numbers are nonsense. Let's face it, he showed nothing while he was here. No great touches, no real hunger to get involved on the field, no turn of pace. He wasn't BR's go to guy in the latter part of games. Frankly, I think he was on the bench every week as part of our obligation under the loan.

Put another way, for that sort of money would any of us take him back. For that sort of money, wouldn't all of us take Borini back.

I may be unkind to the lad and like I said I'm sure he's talented but he does come across as one of those flash but ultimately lazy types.

Give me an honest pro, willing to work, may not be technically gifted but plays the game the right way nice and easy.

    Just like our Leon.

Tell my son to take a leaf out Leo's book and he'll go far.

J agree also, dont do enough around the field and wasnt in Joe's and Leons class anyway, at least he now knows what its gonna take to make it ,may be a kick up the arse for him !

The other side is that joe and leon is in the top 10 in europe for passes so he probably would be easier for him to in Man utds team than ours <ok>
