Adam Johnson is considering his Manchester City future after missing out on Englandâs Euro 2012 squad. The 24-year-old winger is disappointed he did not even come close to making Roy Hodgsonâs 23-man party, and feels he may need to move to get regular Premier League action. Johnson believes he had little chance to impress Hodgson, as he made just 10 league starts in the 2011-2012 season, with the last of them coming at the beginning of March. He didnât even make the bench for Cityâs last two home games. And Johnson's first-team prospects are set to be hit again with City boss Roberto Mancini close to landing winger Eden Hazard from Lille. Sunderland are understood to be monitoring Johnsonâs situation and would be interested in bringing him back to his native Wearside. Mancini, who has previously warned Johnson against putting his off-field lifestyle before his responsibilities as a player, would listen to offers of around £10million. The cash would boost Manciniâs transfer kitty with the club keen to curb their spending because of UEFAâs Financial Fair Play rules. But Johnson, who signed a five-year deal only six months ago, will be reluctant to accept a big cut on his £70,000-a-week wages at Eastlands.
Yeah I saw this a couple of hours ago, I was going to run something on it but thought 'Its the mirror so not worth while'. I will not believe anything from any newspapers - only BBC, SkySports, SAFC.com and SunderlandEcho
NO,NO,NO, you have it wrong, Heskey and the like...lazy crap journalist. Johnson..could be right. It's a bit like horror-scopes.
I didn't laugh when she found out mate, I explained, I am only a man, we have weaknesses and needs, didn't help.
£70,000 thats the killer. May as well warm a bench till the end of contract, that would be his pension fund, then play for less money, if needs be, but more pride.
It's his attitude which has been the problem at city.He was being billy big bollocks in all the nightclubs rather than having a drinking issue. Don't however believe we will sell for less than £16 million but I'm certain we will sell him with a good enough bid. Many people rate him far higher than he actually is,his only good performances have been 20 min cameos off the bench against already knackered fullbacks.Every time he's started a game he's just not been able to get into the game and teams find it quite easy to defend against him.His other really big failing which is why he rarely starts for city is he simply won't track back to defend One to be wary of,in my opinion
One thing that MON will demand so could be a deal breaker, Maclean is the best full back we have when on the wing
He will be operating on the wing for Liverpool or going to Spurs as a replacement for Bale if they get a ridiculous offer from City, Real or Barca
Well both pay higher salaries than SAFC, so you could gave a point. Have to see who the new LFC manager is first mind...
Excellent post and some good interesting points, perhaps we do need to tread carefully when it comes to Johnson
