http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-in-danger-if-right-manager-is-not-found.html The threat to Liverpool's iconic status is not an idle one. It was revealed in recent figures published by the Premier League how the Merseyside club have dropped below Chelsea and Arsenal in Englandâs most supported teams. The survey, conducted by SportMarket on behalf of the Premier League, shows Manchester United have 354 million supporters worldwide, Chelsea have 134 million and Arsenal have 113 million. Liverpool are fourth with 71 million and even trail in traditional strongholds. Chelsea have 44 million fans in Asia and the Far East while Liverpool have 33 million. (C,mon Chelsea.......god I'm tired)
This is interesting stuff CP! If you read the Chelsea Mag they always feature a fan club of ours from some far distant land! I dont suppose they had any worldwide figures for my nearest team Ebbsfleet United?
5pud2 had most newbies globally since they reentered the EU in 2010. The European Cup and football started in 2010; and ended in 2011 in N17. Guess a lot of the Spuds who went to Madrid in 2011 (in the Bernabeu's fifth stand) must support City now, judging by their away support this year!
Always think this world wide support thing is a lot of nonsence. Most aren't real fans, just glory hunters who like having the lastest world star on the back of a shirt. I'm sure it's great for the club finances but I think to be a 'real' fan you should have a link to the club (family or location etc) and attend games now and then. Couldn't really care less how many asian kids prefer us to Liverpool now, they'll soon be off supporting City soon anyway!!
Where is the joke then? Are you saying The Telegraph made this up or is it the Premier League who made it up or Ian Ayre who referenced it in his answer? The only joke here is why a spuds fan hangs out all day on the Chelsea forum.
Easy there. These Spurs lads are okay, friendly and affable despite the amount of **** we give them on here. They are good for discussion and welcome here, you can be as well if you debate properly without insults
