The Vardy deal seems done just waiting for official confirmation which should come today. He passed a medical yesterday http://www.thisisleicestershire.co....d-1m-striker/story-16118344-detail/story.html
I would still want us to sign 1 more striker. Beckford will go and that will leave us a little short with Howard going. Jacob Blyth dont look like making the first team straight away Nugent, Waghorn, Vardy, Schlupp and 1 more
The fleetwood chairman tweeted Vardy congratulating him on his move to Leicester and thanking him Plus Stringer tweeted it
I'd prefer if it was Heskey - having him among all the youngsters we have signed will be brilliant imo. Would still have Kane as well - was really good against us.
Hayley ‏@HayleyEMx Hellooo all followers esp #lcfc fans! My lovely Jamie Vardy @vardy7 has signed for Leicester City woohoo! On a 3 year contract so... 3 year deal. Fit missus too.
I think he will be good for you, you have to look at the number of great players who have come up from non league, Mackeil Smith, George Boyd, Mclean all were signed by Peterborough and have been great, all starting at Stevenage when Mark Stimson was there. Then there has been Simeon Jackson who was at Rushden and Diamonds, then we signed him and then he went to Norwich, Cody McDonald who is at Coventry got 26 goals for us when on loan from Norwich, they signed him from Dartford for 25 thousand pounds, and sold him to Coventry for half a million, so there has been a lot of good attacking players, all I have to say is I have a good knowledge of non league players and I have to say I think he may start slowly which is rather normal and he may take upto 6 months to get going but once he gets going he won't look back.
Cheers for that - always good to have an opinion from someone who has seen more then Youtube videos. I expect that he'll be put on the wing for the better part of the season while he gets used to the Championship - hopefully he will adapt well and then can handle being the focus of attack.
I have seen so many attacking players from Non league make it, a lot start either in league 1 or 2, but some can make the big jump straight away and if anyone I think he will be able to.
He definitely favours the left peg ... but I'm not convinced he'll be played wide; he has a real eye for goal and I could see him being paired with a guy with a big physical presence and who can hold it up and also link play ... perhaps a very experienced ex-England International coming in on a free with a middle name synonymous with Sir Walter Scott .....
