Hasn't Ramsey been made a scapegoat of these last few months? Everyone saying that's he's not that good and doesn't deserve a place in the team. And yet before he got injured he looked to have more potential than even Wilshere.

Ramsey was given way too much responsabilty this season. Even then he was decent in the first half of the season. He showed against Chelsea what he can do when playing at his best.

  7. Get real will you - Ramsey was not decent in the first half of the season. He was dreadful all year. He wasnt given any more responsibility than any other player. I understand you think he has potential - i do too - but lets not pretend there were any positives for him this season, other than he got to play a lot of games.

It's you that should get 'real'. Writing off a 21 year old player as **** and the other things you called him despite knowing his talent. Ramsey did have decent first half of the season. No doubting that. Ramsey was the man expected to create everything from midfield at the start of the season. With Cesc and Nasri gone and Wilshere/Diaby injured we lost so much creativity and never replaced it. His form tailed off badly but it was his first full season back after the leg break and he needed to get that out of the way and he has.

  9. Good grief - there certainly is doubt in what you say. Ramsey had a terrible year. I am not writing him off, I am saying he was a complete failure this year. He needs to go out on loan and try and build up his confidence, pace, and strength. Till he has improved - dramatically - he has no place being in a top 4 team.

Going OTT again. He was fine and perfectly normal in the first half of the season. After the shocking start which was mainly down the summer before, the team settled down and started to get points on the table and the settled front six was Song,Arteta,Ramsey,Walcott,Gervinho and RVP. Ramsey never let anyone down in this part of the season but he was clearly not a patch on the guy he was meant replace in that role (Cesc). Ramsey's form tailed off terribly but he was not like that all season as you say. Oh and Ramsey is going nowhere. He will be in the squad and hopefully this season makes him a better player because it would have provided him with a steep learning curve.

He hasn't been that bad. He was average, not terrible. But nonetheless, he;s a shadow of the player he was pre-injury.

  12. Its funny how time fades the memory - go back and look at our run after our dismal start. We were not playing that well, but eeking out results. In fact between the loss to Spurs and the loss to City, we only really looked convinciong in 2 games, Wigan and West Brom.

    w EPL 16-10-2011 Arsenal 2 : 1 Sunderland
    w EPL 23-10-2011 Arsenal 3 : 1 Stoke
    w EPL 29-10-2011 Chelsea 3 : 5 Arsenal
    w EPL 05-11-2011 Arsenal 3 : 0 West Bromwich
    w EPL 19-11-2011 Norwich 1 : 2 Arsenal
    d EPL 26-11-2011 Arsenal 1 : 1 Fulham
    w EPL 03-12-2011 Wigan 0 : 4 Arsenal
    w EPL 10-12-2011 Arsenal 1 : 0 Everton

Even in the famous Chelsea game we were terrible defensively in the first half. In that game, the player who gave the ball away more than any other? Ramsey. I have looked through every game he played this year, and can tell you he was one of the worst culprits consistently through the season for losing possession. Add to that he just was not very creative when he wasnt giving the ball away and you get a clear pitcure of a player well below par for the whole season.

Against Chelsea he has very creative. That was his best game and you can see why he lost the ball there because that game was all out attack and he was at the heart of it for us. The ball he played for our first goal was perfect. In this run of games, Ramsey was solid enough and work hard and got the winner in that CL game, but I have never claimed that he was some sort of passing metronome that only faded towards the end. In this run, we had a solid enough midfield and Ramsey was part of that. Too claim that he was dreadful and poor all season is wrong.

  14. The Wilshere operation was not the bad news... here's the real danger - a throw away line at the end of the Sky Sports article:

This one line signals a threat to his whole career.

It is bollocks. But coming back from injury can be hard. A lot of players dont come back the same and its a possibility for wilshire. Although the medical people are so good nowadays that this shouldnt really happen (except maybe mentally) very often.

I'm sure that this injury will not significantly affect his comeback, he wasn't going to be ready anyway, the really bad news is "On returning to England, Jack will resume his rehabilitation with the Arsenal medical team over the summer." He would be safer with Harold Shipman.

    Spend the ****ing money Arsene

We're talking about our wonderful medical team here! A guy that was suppose to be back by March/April, he picks up another injury and then misses everything including the Olympics and the Euros. Then he picks up ANOTHER injury and needs a knee op. If past history is something to go by, we shouldn't expect him back for pre-season. We should even brace ourselves for him missing the beginning part of the season. IT's outragous how this can happen with a big club? He's not the only person, we have countless others in Diaby, Rosicky, RVP, Gibbs, Vermaelen, Walcott etc who get injured and take longer than expected to recover.....

Will we see us buy anyone, heck we will....
