Well even that is about wages and what I said. Its hard to compete with city and chelsea who spend 50% more than us on wages (it would be like stoke competing with us) and spend £300m more than us on transfers. Its insane to be honest. Man utd are spending more and more on wages (judging from this years financial figures Q3?) and also spend on transfers. We are way behind these clubs in terms of the amount we are spending and we wont compete with this attitude.
I'm with the Bear on this one, i don't think RVP is in for the wages. IF Wenger goes out there and guys 2 or 3 QUALITY players then he will definately sign on the dotted line. If he just sticks to the Pod, then he's off. We need more than just the Pod to compete in this league!
Bear is completely correct - We have as a club (regardless of whose fault it is) royally ****ed up. We have too many sub par players on big wages and the real quality we do have are not paid enough. Ridiculous situation to get into. RVP flies out with the Dutch squad tomorrow so nothing will now be sorted before the end of June. We are in another frustrating situation now because the club has once agin proven unable to make decisions and get the deals they need signed. The meeting with RVP was yesterday - if he was willing to sign under certain conditions, those conditions have clearly NOT been met. Time for Wenger to grow some balls and sort this mess out. Get rid of the dead wood, and get rid of RVP now if he wont sign. Dont let it drag on through the summer.
How can anybody assure anybody that we will be able to compete with Manchester city. Even if we spend every penny we have available on wages we will not come within 100M of their annual wage bill. Why would Van Persie stay if it was down to which club buys the best players? If he truly believes that, like people on here, Arsenal will never make him happy. They CANNOT make him happy. Man City will simply buy more and bigger. Heck Man City could buy players simply so they can't play for anyone else. If you honestly think who Arsenal sign has any bearing on RVP's decision then he is gone for sure.
I disagree tbh and agree with PISKIE I would 100% blame Rvp should he leave. We stuck by through the thick and thin and transformed him into a guy with potential but pathetic attitude into one of the best strikers in the world and on the back of one and a half good seasons he thinks he's too good for us....nonsense! If he wants to leave imwould sell him rather tha. Be held ransom.
It's a load of bollocks. The Mirror article is from that cretin, John Cross. **** knows why the Club allow him anywhere near them because all he does is spout rubbish. Then from the Sun we have chief dickhead, Rob Weasley. Who today has linked both RVP and Ibra to Man City on the same day.
Guy is a ****ing two faced rat. When he is on that Arsenal phone in show he acts all nice and pretends to be an Arsenal fan but then goes and writes BS stories like the ones he has done with RVP this week.
I wish. ...and I hope your right. But consider we have 34 players in our squad and we need to narrow it down to 25. So in order to add anyone else we have to sell/release/loan at least 10 players!! Wenger seems to be loosing the plot. It all seems chaotic and miss-managedin a very 'un-Arsenal' way
Good point, they are home grown. But they can be loaned anyway, get some more experience, or rebuild some confidence
Oh great. It may actually come down to this, as it looks like he will have to cover when Pod is not playing.
You would loan chamberlain?? I agree with you in reagrds to selling but who's going to buy those players?
