Am i the only one that really doesn’t rate Guzan?

His communication and command of the box is terrible amongst all the other basics being sub-standard.

Mannone unfortunately i don’t think will sign. God i hope we dont sign Guzan on a perm int he summer.

I think he is a bit of a calamity. He never comes for the ball, communication appears none existent. How many times has there been a mix up between him and defenders. He's done his job which was come in and do better than Duke while Mannone was/is injured.

One that really springs to mind was his back pass communication with Gerrard against Cardiff that was nearly very embarrassing

I've been saying for months that he's useless and it's been met with huge disagreement. His decision making and command of his area are atrocious. I reckon I personally may have kept a clean sheet against Norwich. His only duties all match were to come and collect crosses and deal with pass backs and goal kicks, and yet, he still managed to **** it up.

I like him, but he's a bit of a Boaz with regards to his command of the area and communication.

He nearly had one at the weekend when it came into the box, he should of collected so Hobbs left it, Yet Guzan just stood there looking bemused.

He started well, but has faded badly.

I doubt we'll bid for him, I think we'll definitely try for Mannone, but we'll do so knowing it's a bit of a long shot.

Based on Pearson's comments last week, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Eilhoff is one of our new keepers.

I think Mannone as a goalkeeper is great. He will be a great asset for a club, hopefully for us but if not a good premier league side.

Guzan is similar to Boaz, maybe a poor mans version. His shot stopping and handling is generally good, however his communication and command of the area if poor to say the least.

I don't know what to think about Guzan. Although he's far better than Duke he is prone to a mistake occasionally. I'd love to see us move for Mannone but a permanent deal you'd think is unlikely given his obvious quality. He looks PL class but I guess a move depends on how highly Arsenal rate him and whether he is willing to step down to Championship level.

He hasn't had too much of a chance to prove/disprove himself because our defence has been pretty solid.

Personally, nothing I have seen says he is above average for this level of football. There are certainly a few mistakes which don't do well for him. However, didn't he have a brilliant game at Portsmouth? I wasn't there.

I'd say that Mannone is considerably better.

Finally seen a replay of the Millwall goal.. shocking. Not for failing to stop it, but for failing to make any attempt whatsoever. He wasn't wrong footed, he wasn't off balance, he just watched it fly over his head. Any goalkeeper in that situation should be scrambling back to his line like his life depended on it.

His kicking is also appalling. He must have kicked at least 10 out of play, either in touch or for a Millwall goal kick. That's without mentioning the 2 that went to their keeper or the ones that their defenders won!

Agreed. I read somewhere (probably the Mirror, highly reliable source...) that Arsenal were after Buffon as he's a free agent in the summer. If that were to happen, then surely with Fabianski and Almunia on the books we'd be in with some chance of signing Mannone? If not on a perm then atleast on loan again. I've not seen the German bloke, is he any good?

I dunno if Mannone would join a Championship club permanently.

To be fair was more Kolscenieys (spelt abysmaly) fault than the keepers from memory. You get the feeling that Wenger won't sign another keeper just to be stubborn.
