The Procrastination Thread

So a fair few of us have exams/coursework on at the minute, so rather than giving each other moral support, I'm currently looking for people to distract me from my impending doom!

Here's what I need you to do, list for me 1 of each of the following: TV, Film, Music, Random, that you'd recommend I put before my education...I'll start:

Just starting watching it (finished first season) nothing ground breaking, but at just over 20 minutes an episode and a guaranteed laugh at least once a show (the odd one has had me belly laughing throughout) its the perfect exam time TV Show...

Film: Hot Rod

This film is just plain stupid...And I love it! From the Lonely Island lads ('I'm on a boat'/'Dick in a box'/'Like a Boss') and with Sasha Baron Cohen's Missus as the eye candy its already worth a watch, the 'young lad wants to win respect of terminally ill stepfather by beating him in a fight, goes on a mission to raise $50,000 to pay for a heart-transplant by becoming a stunt man' storyline just makes it all the more surreal. This film is made up of mental little asides and is brilliantly edited for lots of 'WTF' laughs, perfect bit of silliness to dilute serious revision notes.

Music: Childish Gambino

Donald Glover is an actor in Community (see above) and I started watching the show after someone sent me one of his songs. He chose his rap name after using the WuTang Clan's 'what's your rapper name' app on their website - I like him already! His music is fairly mainstream/catchy but his lyrics are far better than your average chart rapper...Massive in America apparently

Random: Baking

I have taken to baking...Me and the flatmates were gunna make a steak and ale pie, I bought the puff pastry but it didn't defrost in time, so instead we just had stew and the next day I made apple sauce, rolled out the pastry into strips, put a dolop of apples in and rolled it up into triangles, ended up with apple puff pastry samosas and I can honestly say for 10 minutes effort, these things are some of the nicest things I've ever eaten and a piece of piss to make...Guaranteed brownie points with the woman AND whilst baking wastes some of the time, eating them will waste just as much again!



Right.....GO!!!

 

I wouldn't recommend that you put anything before your education.

And why put off till tomorrow what you can do today? Strike while the irons hot! Aim to be first!

Everybody loves a winner, losers just fade away.

 

Falling to prepare is preparing to fail.

Community is absolutely hilarious if your into that kind of humour. I watched all three series in about 2 days.

One that will definitely distract for a while is Person of Interest, look it up and watch it, best thing on TV at the moment

Hmmm, the procrastination thread eh? Meditate on this I will and let you know tomorrow my answer.

 

Get up, revise and do well in your exam, then watch all that ****.

 

I think quite a few of the 'oldies' have missed the point of this thread..... it's not as easy as get up, sit at your desk and work. The mind wanders, and to have a break every now and then does wonders. I'd fully recommend watching something/playing a game to take your mind off of work.

Game of Thrones is epic. If you want an excellent online game to play for 10-15 mins, go on New Soccer Star Player. It's awesome.
