The Belgians are an outside bet for the next World Cup mate, i'm gonna have a daft bet on them, they are producing player after player.

We have 2 ****ing players man, the rest are either past it, or ****.

Walker I was really excited about, crocked.

Richards, big, strong, weapon. Not picked.

All this said though, I could see Carroll having a 'Shearer '96' tournament, and an inglorious failure in the semi's!

Full of quality that French squad and with players who are comfortable in possession unlike our panic style.

Their forward line is scary compared to ours, notice how they have players like Ben Arfa & Valbuena who can play in the hole and are very creative, we have Rooney I suppose but hes unavailable for the first 2 effing games.

After Stewart Downing's inclusion in the England sqaud, I think they should name a street in his honour, where all people who are **** at their jobs and got selected when no-one wants them should live. Hang on...

Have learnt that to support England, you have to have more faith than I have, and being Sunderland supporters, you know what that involves, being let down on regular occasions. But I hope folks wont judge Roy H solely on the Euros. But Im sure many will. Personally I think the choice of him or rednap came out right. The bloke has loads of experiance abroad, Harrys abroad was Pompy And Soton.

ffs i really want to give this guy a chance but some of these selections.....jesus :(
And honestly i think he has backed the wrong horse i would have took Ferdinard and left Terry, it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that!
4 strikers too :(, no strurridge is just mental, this guy could be amazing for us and offers something so much different to what we have.
oh well at least there is the Olympics to look forward too lol

5-a-side tonight (won 8-4, but I digress...) discussing the squads.

We have a Bulgar, an Italian, 2 dutch and 2 Spanish.

They all agreed our squad is ****.

    The 4 English agreed.

England manager Roy Hodgson has admitted that Tottenham's Scott Parker is a doubt for Euro 2012.

The 31-year-old, who has an Achilles tendon injury, was captain under caretaker Stuart Pearce, but has been replaced by Liverpool's Steven Gerrard.
Use accessible player and disable flyout menus

Hodgson said: "Scott's had an injection which will probably take a week for us to see if it's been successful or not."

"He could still miss out, although from what I'm hearing, it won't be a problem. He's very confident."

Hodgson added: "We've got until the 29 May to finalise the squad and I may still have a call to make on that one if it's looking dubious, if there is a doubt.

"I'll have that call to make. Do I take the risk and go with a doubt and hope for the best or do I say 'I'm sorry, I've selected you in my 23 players, but now I have to remove you'?

"But I'm very confident that won't happen. I'm very optimistic. The doctor spoke to Scott Parker and Spurs on Wednesday, so I'm confident - but I can't give a guarantee."

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has been placed on stand-by and would be called into the squad if Parker was ruled out.

I reckon this is a fairly strong team:

    .......................Hart..................
    Johnson.....Cahill........Terry.....Cole
    Alex O-C....Parker..Gerrard.....Young
    ...........Carroll......Defoe..............

I personally think that is well balanced. Its not as young as it could be, but it has flair and 2 strikers that could work for the first few games.
I think Roy likes the little-big strikers.

Richards should be there not Glen Johnson, Adam Johnson should be instead of Downing. Sturridge is better than Welbeck and should be in there. Think we'll play 4-2-3-1

    .......................Hart.................
    Johnson....cahill..terry......Cole
    ................Barry...Parker..........
    Walcott.... ..Gerrard.........Young
    ...................Rooney....................

Barry and Parker will protect the defence giving Gerrard the freedom to get forward. Young and Walcott offer pace and width to be the supply line to Rooney.

Id have Carroll starting the first two games

Now you lads will have gathered that I'm a positive sort, but I just can't get it going over this squad.

I quickly rattled up potential starting teams of the 2 strongest squads named to date for comparison, France, Germany, Spain haven't named their squad as yet.

    FRANCE
    Lloris
    Debuchy Mexes Rami Evra
    Ribery M'Vila Gourcuff Ben Arfa
    Benzema Giroud

    GERMANY
    Neuer
    Lahm Badstuber Hummels Schmelzer
    Schweinsteiger Kroos Goetze Ozil Podolski
    Gomez

The quality of the midfields is obvious (and Spain have of course Xavi, Iniesta , Cesc, Pedro et al to choose from!)

Well good luck to them anyway but your assessment spot on. Thing is we have been saying it for years and it seems nothing that has been done has produced the sort of players we need.
