Sunderland eye big deals by Setanta Staff , 15 May 2012 Sunderland eye big deals As Sunderland look to push on next season, sources say Martin O'Neill will make 'one or two significant signings' this summer. Having managed to halt the Black Cats slide towards the bottom three, O'Neill is expected to be backed in the transfer market as he looks to take the club forward. Owner Ellis Short will make funds available and the Black Cats fans can expect a couple of big name arrivals during the close season, with Sunderland targeting a place in the top six of the Premier League. A proven goalscorer is expected to be one of the new faces at the Stadium of Light, with on-loan Nicklas Bendtner expected to leave and Asamoah Gyan also likely to depart. O'Neill will also have to make decisions on whether to make permanent moves for defensive loan duo Wayne Bridge and Sotirios Kyrgiakos. Lovely news Ellis will dip into the lucky bag, and produce a couple of big name signings, something must have been discussed with possible targets, so they do come next season, starting to get that new signing stiffy feeling.
Top 6!!! You will have to sign some mega players to do that based on what Chelsea and Liverpool will be doing in the market forgetting the likes of Spurs and Arsenal! We won't finish top 6 next season. Surely top 8 would be more realistic? That said, I see you are linked with LLorente!
Well it's a good job you live in enlightened times with tolerance abound. I hope your feelings are reciprocated, all the best with the romance...
