The best part of the weekend....

Was watching match of the day, and seeing the commentators drool over Andy Carroll as he subjected Liverpool to another timid performance. He had one decent effort and they were throwing in 'He truly is an exceptional talent!' blah blah, but when he scored a screamer for us against Liverpool, he was seen as a 'promising prospect'. I guess £35 million means they have to try and build him up!

But what really made me smile was Carroll did **** all in that game, apart from hit the floor and whine at the ref, while Ameobi, (half as talented but twice as loyal) plays through the pain barrier, and sticks his broken face in where it hurts. And you could see how much it meant to him......there was more passion and aggression in the way he attacked that ball and the way he celebrated. Thats something £35 million cant buy.....a genuine love and want to play for your club.

Good on ya Shola, on your day your a true hero and I dont think many can deny that! Not the most talented, but he loves that badge. And Judas, he can keep proving that £35 million was ridiculous money!!

Carroll isn't happy. I take it as quite a compliment. Many of his mates say he isn't happy, simply because he isn't the big personality at Liverpoo like he was at NUFC.

We know he is a good player and I wish he was still in the team but he betrayed us(MA as well but nothing new there).

 

I must admit, I thought Shirley looked well out of sorts on MoTD and I think Badger may have something there - he was the top dog at NUFC, but at LFC - he's just another player.

Anyway - the bbc website described him as "Listless" this weekend.......brought a smile to my face!!

I still dont think he'll be as effective in coming seasons once his "take the league by storm" factor has worn off and defenders realise how to play him.

 

He's never been the same since that Boyzone concert.

 

They bought him based on half a season. Then play with no wingers, maybe hes just a average player having a good season due to no one knowing how to play him yet

 

Yeah this was hilarious, especially since they said it right after he just headed miles over the bar or something equally as bad.

 

Yeah, guess we'll have to see? Regardless he's still a big threat in the air and does have a sweet left foot
