I think those that did it (and it wasn't everyone) were more jeering at the United fans because they had been so cocky, especially once they scored. I didn't see much directed at the players or manager. I like to believe most Sunderland fans are pretty sporting and, having been on the end of some gutting final day results, we understand what it's like. Believe me, it's better, far better to lose and come SECOND in the league, than to be RELEGATED on the final day, something we know a fair bit about.
Same here mate, I was gutted! Had a right lump in my throat that day, was even worse then the wembley day against Charlton
I remember quite vividly Man Utd fans gloating us during the 0-0 in the 15 point season (we needed to win to avoid relegation) What goes around comes around. It's the nature of a football fan. What they gonna do anyway, take 6 points off us again?
I'm not bitter! I swear I was with 99% of United fans who had given up hope before Sunday. Yes it hurt, like fook and I think if the Bolton game finished after the QPR game we would be champions now, because QPR took their foot off the gas as soon as their crowd let up a big cheer and they knew they were safe. Yeah, I'm bitter about that, because they rolled over for them in the dying minutes - they proved that when the ball went out of play at the end and nobody chased Hart down. That's all I'm bitter about, stupid QPR, but I accept City should have never been in that position in the first place, they should have slipped 8/9 past that sorry looking side of chumps and none of this would be even up for debate. Again though, I'll say, I am not bitter towards any City fans because their team deserved to win that title because they finished at the top of the league, and I'm not bitter towards Sunderland's fans, like I said, your team did their part by providing some form of opposition for us on Sunday, on another day we would have let you have a touch of the ball but there was quite a bit at stake, maybe next time.
On another day a referee other than Howard Webb might have given us that penalty in the second half where Evra fouled Elmohammady in the box - or might have sent Phil Jones off for a professional foul - like I say - Howard Webb wouldn't have on any day - but another ref might have - Ferguson said "if not for their keeper it could have been 5 or 6" - he made 2 saves and one catch (which was almost a backpass) so unless my maths is wrong if all of those had gone in it's have been 4 (3 not inluding the one that was passed to him by the united player) - you weren't clinical at all against us - the only thing I'm bitter about are the decisions from Webb - On a yellow card Phil Jones takes James McClean out as he runs towards the last line of defence (from behind as well) - not even a talking to - it was far worse than any of the bookings (other than Campbell) in the entire game
RAWhite....very bitter? Hardly though, I've got more to worry about than football in my life, I won't get hooked up on ifs and buts like Marcus and his opta stats (even though we had 9 shots on target). Chill out, the season is finished, you survived it for another year and you can look forward to next year's struggle.
Fergie does not know what it is like to REALLY suffer, may 1987 roker park, play off semi final 2nd leg, and 1998 done because we lost but finished higher than Charlton. Lets see the 3rd vs 6th in the premier league go for a champions league place and would Wenger be happy! i think not. And Fergie should remember we lost twice to them and took 4 points of City.
Did you type that with gritted teeth? You have to be one of the most bitterest fans we have had on here in a long time. Chin up Terry
Yep. I've got until 10:30pm before I have to be somewhere. I plan on making as many people feel uncomfortable, as I possibly can.
