    How many people have been?

A few mates went down for the Carlisle game yesterday, even though they are mad NUFC fans.

For me, Wembley is a special day, and couldn't bring myself to go to watch Carlisle v Brentford for my first time there, or an England game, or any game other than NUFC for that matter.

I have always said that my first time at Wembley will be watching Newcastle. I went to the old one twice, for the Man Utd cup final and the Chelsea semi-final, so hopefully the next time we make it we do a lot better than we have in the last 50 years.

Who's been? How many times? Who to watch?

Like you Badger, no point in going unless Newcastle are there,so I might get to Wembley III when I'm in my nineties..don't see the point in going all the way there just for a look-see, even if you're in London anyway - the old Wembley was a pain to get to and I'm assuming none of the traffic links have been improved.

It's still a bitch to get to, though working in London it does make it easier to go to the odd game. Have been to a couple of England matches since it reopened and the Conference Play-Off final. Also saw Foo Fighters, Muse and Oasis there. I think it's alright, though it doesn't have the magic of the old Wembley and everything is way overpriced inside.

I went to the old Wembley when I was 8 for the cup final against Man United, it was a ****ing dump. The new one is supposed to be a lot nicer mind!

I went to the old Wembly when I was about 8 years old to watch an American football game. It was a dive, massive but a dive. Inside was just like a big dirty shell. I was only a kid but even then I realised it should be scrapped. It was filthy.

I went to the old Wembley several times and although it had "character" it needed rebuilding. The new Wembley is very good, but as others have said, unbelieveably expensive for food and drinks and the travel infrastructure is still ****e.

My first visit to Wembley was in about 1971 to see North shields win the FA Amatuer Cup
Since then i have seen Newcastle lose 2 FA Cup Finals, 1 League Cup Final and 1 Charity Shield
I have been to the old Wembley many times for Internationals and most memorably to see Liverpool win the European cup 1-0 vs Bruges (Kenny Dalglish!)
I have been to the New Wembley to see U2 and England vs Hungary, and i have done the tour (£15) which is very good, the new stadium is impressive but a bit bland, if it was me in charge i would have photos of everything that had happened at Wembley all around instead of grey painted blocks!
The Wembley area is still a ****hole and the infrastructure around the ground is dreadful, nearly as bad as The Emirates!

Was at the old Wembley a few times, first time seemed a bit special walking down Wembley Way, but inside the ground wasn't all that special. No happy memories of the place.

Whitley Bay reached Wembley for the 3rd consecutive season at the weekend, if anyone wants to pay a visit to the place, there is no better excuse than to support one of your local non-league teams in their bid to achieve a 3rd FA Vase on the spin, unprecedented.

Whitley have also scored the fastest goal at the new Wembley, nice little record to have.

I went to the old Wembley a few times.

As AB mentioned; the first time down Wembley Way is nice but the stadium should have been demolished years ago.

I seem to recall it stank of piss.

I've been, England 1-1 Brazil in 2007 (I think). It was without a doubt the best stadium I've ever been to, I was quite far up but still had a cracking view, unlike up in the Gods at SJP! It is pretty expensive thought, £4.50 a Guinness I seem to recall.

That could have been because it was used for the dogs twice a week OT.

I think the view at SJP is good...even in the 'Gods', I like sitting up there as you get to see the space and where we can exploit, that sort of thing.
