another good win for the blues against what must be said a very poor stockport team today.a good crowd at adams park and for once i could hardly hear the away support, what a good idea to put county fans in the family stand and blues fans at the away end.overall we didnt really have to get out of second gear and should have won more convincingly.a sublime strike from montrose and a very cool penalty from ruth rendell gave us the points although bully had to make a couple of good saves we thoroughly deserved our win.rendell was given man of the match but personally i would have awarded it to betsy today after he put in a very impressive performance.winfield was a rock at the back along with leon and they had stockports attack in their pockets for most of the game.a success on and off the pitch today as the community day went well all round hats of to wwfc for once.nice to see sandell come on as sub late in the game and he looks like he will start at oxford away next week, but to be fair foster had a comfortable game at left back and probably doesnt deserve to lose his place.beever had a couple of good chances to score but their keeper saved with his legs and rendell could have had a hatrick today but overall nothing to complain about as the result was never really in doubt.i really feel sorry for stockports fans because on this showing they could be spending a long time in the conference:emoticon-0100-smile

We dropped 2 points today against Hereford.
Continually holding the game up, whether it was goal kick, free kick, throw in - it all resulted in hoof ball in the end, well more like header ball.
We should have taken them apart, so I expect you will succeed where we failed.
Their only threat came from no 7 Fleetwood - the fans also thought he was a 'scream' at going down in the box <laugh>

I remember the last game of the season, 2 seasons back vs Notts County they were thrown into the corner and it makes for a much better game :)

Stockport County manager Ray Mathias told BBC Radio Manchester:

"They had the majority of the game but overall the chances that they had and that we had were equal.

"I'm not making it an excuse for our defeat today but we never got the decisions that we deserved really.

"I've just had a go at the players as one or two of them dropped their heads; if we could have got a goal who knows what could have happened."

    What game was he watching????
Overall Wycombe created many more chances and I was rather dissapointed at the number of chances we missed, atleast we were creating many goal scoring oppertunities.

I also do feel sorry for stockport and their fans, having been in the championship not too long ago now heading to the confrence.

Stockport were such a good team years ago, But do seem to hold a record for shooting up and down the league people, But this one would be a all new low and with there financial position it isnt good.

A very comfortable afternoon with a professional performance. We did enough for the win and could have had a few more goals if we stepped up a bit, but job done and 3 points so no complaints. Stockport played some nice stuff and Bull had to make some good saves, but I never really felt threatened by them. They spent far too much time whinging at the officials too.

A good goal and performance by Montrose, I thought Foster was excellent too and Donnelly filled in for Bloomfield well as the box to box midfielder. Beavon was his usual nuisance for the centre half and probably should have got a goal. It was good to see Murtagh come on, he looks a different player to the last time we saw him. You can tell he's full of confidence after his successful loan and he showed some nice touches. Scott Pendell must be the coolest penalty taker around, he never looks like missing.

Well done to the club on the community day, there was a decent buzz around the place and I enjoyed the free meatballs and falafels at the world food stand! There was some good noise from the crowd and I do like having the Dreams stand full of home fans, it definitley adds more noise to the place. I must have missed the fire drill at around 4.35pm though :)

Stockports time is running out now, I think they are gone but Barnet are not gone.

agree with wandermagic murtagh looked very composed when he came on,and also about rendell,he looks so cool and composed when taking a penalty and reminds me of matt letissier when he steps up to the spot he never looks like he is gonna miss.

I think maybe the Stockport manager is just trying to keep his job.

Good to see the upbeat comments, although by all accounts Stockport were pretty bad and we only scored 2 goals, including a penalty, so I don't think we can get too excited. It could have been a banana skin though so well done the blues for avoiding that one. Great goal from Montrose and a class penalty by Rendell. I love Ainsworth's enthusiasm; reminds me a bit of Simon.

By my reckoning, as all the other relevant results went as I predicted, we now need 14 points. I'm going to keep track of my predictions v actuals to see if I need to revise my predicted league position up or down. Can't wait for the former.

A performance like Crewe would be great.

Good first half. Bit of an anti-climax in the second half and can't help but feel we missed an opportunity to get a big victory behind us especially with our weak goal difference compared to those around us. Was a little bit disappointed with the negative substitutions, leaving us with one up front for a lot of the second half, culminating in taking off our top scorer for a left back and putting Beavon back up front who couldn't score for toffee. Beavon was a nuisance but equally frustrating, no end product and constantly held on to the ball too long when easy early balls to Betsy first half and Murtagh second half could have resulted in two simple tap ins.

It does look like a very tough run in for you Lord Sykes. It's not impossible but I suppose a betting man wouldn't back against relegation. If you do go down, I hope you can bounce back again. Good luck.
