He can't help that its in his jeans ... brushed demin high waisters finished off with a dainty black bra and wellingtons
Alright, I'll concede that to you. You know what you're talking about. But the question is why are they so much better at it? My own theory is that we've got ahem "Managers" at underage level who think they're Alex Ferguson. You know the ones. Clowns shouting and roaring and cursing and F-ing and blinding and ranting and raving on the touchline and putting the fear of God into a bunch of under 12 kids who just want to enjoy a game of football as kids should. These kids are never encouraged, in fact are actively discouraged, from expressing themselves on the ball and trying out different stuff. If you make a mistake or give the ball away God help you. There's little time given to allowing the lad get the feel of a ball. Its all drills with no thrills. As a result of all this we produce young players that will run and tackle all day long but haven't developed any technique like the Continental players have.
its easy the French learn to love the ball.... after all its the focus of the game ... we learn to chase it they learn to keep it ... you can't win a game without it
It's a shame Dave that you can't spot talent even when it's right in front of you. Maybe you haven't seen Bolton play? I don't know. But Mark Davies is a highly rated player that won't play his trade in the Championship next season, mark (pun intended )my words. No fan of youtube footage to judge a player, but this should at least give you a hint.
Good call Norway. Ignore Norway at your peril, this lad knows his football. Norway has the most extensive knowledge of football of anyone on our board. When he speaks we should listen, Norway knows his stuff. . QPR could use him as a top scout.. He watches loads of football that we didn't even know existed. . Continue with your reccomendations Norway, I'm listening.
Cheers Nines that's very gratious of you Now go and get that tongue out of your cheek I was only answering the OP. It would be silly to suggest just because they got relegated there are no good players among them. We should thank our maker that Bolton had their two best players injured the whole season and had to sell Cahill in January. I have always been flying the flag that we should look abroad. That's where the quality and value for money lies.
Shouldn't Hoillett be top of the list? Though he is out of our league now, reckon he, more than any of the others, can step back up again! Wasn't Holden injured nearly all last and this season - sounds iffy that kind of record to me!
If Barton, Buz, SWP and Vine go, or even two or three of them, we will need someone to have a go at every week. I think that it is important to buy in a crap player just so they can take the flak and take the pressure of the rest of the team. i am only half joking.
It may be worth mentioning at this point that Jamie Mackie had just been relegated to League 1 when we signed him.
