I AGree tho I still think you also threw it away by being so negative AGainst citeh. I know he was trying to hit them on the break but was shocked at the team he put out for that game think the 6-1 must still have been playing on his mind (understandably)

If Liverpool had finished in our position this season you'd all be creaming yourself about how Dalglish got you to within a few minutes of the title and with your highest points total since the 1980s. Yes, given Liverpool's situation and the quality of your squad your season hasn't been a total disaster, but don't for a minute think that any right thinking Liverpool fan wouldn't switch positions with us in a second

Agree with this - cannot honestly believe QPR managed to stay up. Bolton can feel very hard done by, tho' tbh they gave up a bit when QPR took the lead against City. They should've kept pressing for a winner just in case.

This. In any season there are always games where you play badly and lose (City x 2, Newcastle away, Blackburn and Wigan) and games where the luck and decisions go against you (Stoke, Liverpool, Newcastle at home). Every team will drop points in those situations. But against Everton we played well enough to win, did enough to win, but threw the points away in the last ten minutes.

 

I think Bolton where on the receiving end of some terrible decisions in the last quarter of the league campaign, I know it might sound b****ks but perhaps a reason for that is their managers passive attitude. Thats not to say he bends over and takes it without question but he doesnt get up in arms like say Fergie or Dalglish (not that it did him much good but thats another debate) would about some of the incidents his team experienced. And inturn the refs might subconsielsy take the easy option without fear of a mauling in the press, who knows but might have made a difference.

I saw that earlier PMK, though it was funny. What now for Utd? They have the bones of a very good team and some young players that look like they may turn out to be very good players. Most Utd fans would agree that they need to bring in some quality this summer?

 

Like Hansen said,this Utd squad is average compared to other seasons and they deffo have to spend if they want to keep up with City.

matth on the other hand believes Utd have 6 world class first teamers so we could be wrong.

 

We do need to bring in one or two quality addtions in the summer and address the areas where the squad is ageing but nothing to the degree of some of the knee jerk reactions.

 

In fairness to Ferguson that was not a lot he could say, It's not as if he was going to say "It was my fault I ****ed up abit" or "It's me boss' fault they won't give me any money, and no-one likes 'em"

Man Utd need (and have needed to for a while) to strengthen the engine room. Scholes and Giggs are a year older, as too are Carrick and Fletcher. Are Cleverley and Anderson up to the task...? Only other area is possibly full back, if Evra does leave then who plays? Right back has been covered by Jones and Smalling but surely a recognised player for that position would be better...? I can't really see too much else wrong to be honest. Good keeper with decent back-up. CB is definitely covered but need to get Vidic back (people talk about Tevez being missing for so long making it a tighter race, IMO Man Utd would have won the league had he not been injured). The wings are quality and upfront isn't an issue, maybe someone to come in as a fourth striker if, as expected, Berbatov and Owen leave.
