As Paul Lambert's stock continues to rise (has he yet made a bad decision? - on anything from team selection to subs to recruitment to coming to NCFC in the first place), I feel he deserves a unique & suitable nickname. He's far to modest to compare himself to "The Special One", Jose Mourinho, but I don't think we should be too shy to bestow upon him a similar accolade of our own to express our appreciation. Given his penchant to talk about big big performances, tough tough games and being far far to early to talk about promotion, I propose the following: PL is "THE SPECIAL SPECIAL ONE" - any takers? Instinct tells me it could fly!
not a bad idea, in fact i quite quite like it. living near scunny i have already given a new nickname to their new manager, ie (six) knill but the locals are not amused.
I hope this isn't a bad omen, but Real Madrid have just lost at home, ending something like a 9 year record for Mourinho
His easily one of the best city managers I've seen, taken a team from the bottom of League One up to challenging for automatic promotion from the Championship in two seasons. Would love to see him have one Spanish/Italian style flags the supporters have for club legends, hanging from the Barclay. His nearly up there with Deadly Dave Stringer.
He's a genius. Always makes great substitutions. Always goes for the win. Always supportive of the team to the media no matter what he might say in the dressing room. I don't hear many mentioning Holt's contribution to that all-important-thing-that-no-money-can-buy: Team spirit. Holt's sense of how to mix fun and hard work rubs off on the rest of the team. Lambo's man-management and tactics, mixed with Holt's captaincy is the magic formula that's gonna get us promoted again.
Largely agree with what you say, CZ, - Holt is showing great leadership & PL can do & say no wrong. One thing shone through on Saturday - the togetherness of the team unit, the will to win each ball and the sense that everyone, including subs, knowing exactly what was expected of them. Not wishing to sound corny but I'm really proud to support this team.
