Hi guys, just signed up to this website after always being on the 606 boards but never signing up to it.

Thought I would start off with an article saying good luck to Nicolas Hamilton this weekend in the Clio Cup. Nice to see someone with a disability pushing through and racing. The BBC says Lewis is flying from Australia to Brands Hatch and then on to Malaysia which surely can't prepare him very well. Anyway hoping Nicolas does well this weekend. Does anyone know where it can be watched?

    Cheers

Welcome to the site mate, if there's anything you want to know just ask. <ok>

I doubt it will be on any TV channels, it probably wouldn't cost a lot if you could get yourself down to Brands though.

    Welcome to the forum.

Nick Hamilton is an inspirational character, never let his disability hold him back and I wish him the best of luck in the Clio Cup.

His online racing stats are very impressive too! Clearly runs in the family there, and as has been said, its good to see his disability doesn't stop him

It should be on ITV tomorrow, maybe ITV4. It used to be on the ITV-iplayer thing last year as its a support race for BTCC.

Hope he does well as it will definitely inspire a lot of people, and good on Lewis for coming to show his support.

    P.s. Hi :)

There's a short news piece about it on the BBC website for anyone interested. Not too much footage, and I'll be curious to see how he gets on tomorrow. Good luck to him!

Apparently it's on at 11:00am ITV4. It's on of the many other series going in between the BTCC, so looks like my TV is gunna be dominated by BTCC and Moto GP!!

All the best to Nicolas, hope he wins tomorrow, it'll show that anyone can take part in sport!

Hope young Nick rises through the series and enters F1, apart from the fantastic boost for all less able bodied folk, the effects on the haters would be hilarious

They would have to create extra anti Hamilton websites and YouTube pages. Those with signatures linking to their own lovingly created hate sites would be flabbergasted

Could lead to compare the market/meerkat style confusion for those with pages full of Hamilton hate videos

Just watching the build up to the BTCC and there's quite a few touring car drivers who have moved up from the Clio Cup this year so the chance is there to move up the formula's.

Good to see Nick coming up through the ranks, a hard worker like his brother.

News report on Nicks race here, unfortunately with no race footage. He finished 12th of 17 runners apparently, which is very respectable. Well done Nick.

Ah glad to hear he got on well at the race. Cheers for the update. I take it he's signed up for the full season.

He finished 15th of 17 starters today and was only 0.9 off pace, so very respectable and a great improvement considering he was 4.5 seconds off in testing.

A great début for Nick Hamilton in spite of being shunted off on lap 1. However, he recovered the car after which his tyre management was good and his lap times were impressively competitive with a driving style not dissimilar to his better known brother. And although he was racing against well-seasoned drivers, most of whom have been racing for many years from a very tender age, it was his very first race in any category!

Lewis and his father were there and I saw the ITV crew (I believe it was ITV4) interviewing both Nick and Lewis. And yes, it was very gratifying to see Lewis put in an appearance but I know he would not have missed his brother's first race for love nor money.

It's a great start for Nick and I wish him all the luck in the world…
