Well not saying he will but lets say you start in June (Europa League) (i havnt a clue when that starts but Fulham/Stoke started about then I believe), you fly through the early rounds (confidence is high) but then the PL season starts and he does a Bruce, 11 points from 14 games type form, but you are top of the Europa league (but your players are knackered), will the natives still be backing him in December "if" that is the case, or will they be braying for blood by then?
it may go the other way though you may be flying in Both league and Europe, as you are a club that will take Europe very seriously.

It wasn't so much choosing pardew, it was the mannor in which hughton was ousted.

    Honestly.....

Just as much as he did at Sunderland and if you's wouldn't have give him game time if he was in your squad, then that would have been your loss.

Finishing 5th should put us straight into the group stage I think so we wouldn't start as early.

Rather be a bad smell than a little heathen who's hatred overwhelms his love for his daughter.

The earliest we can start is August 2nd. It just means less Pre season games.

How people can put a negative on European football is beyond me. This is what we support our team for.

Cant be bothered to read all the comments but the one fact about Pardew I know for fact is, he won manager of the year and the worst his team can do is 5th. I would be happy with that.

Bit of a pointless thread to be honest, if pardew was our manager and we were 5th I'd be hanging out the back of him at the minute! Couldn't care aless that he's been sacked before at what club.

I'd have imagined you'd have created yet another Newcastle post last pre-season saying they'd go down due to a lack of premier league experience?
