But as a career move, leaving would be similar to shooting himself in the foot. Red Bull will promote a STR driver, Mercedes lack pace, and the thought of Alonso and Hamilton at ferrari makes me shudder, it'll be like 2007 again.

He wont leave mclaren as the car is still great and theres a long way to go this season, all these mistakes from Mclaren give Lewis a lot of negotiating power with a new contract.

However much pace Mercedes lack (in high tyre deg races only), what's the point being in a faster car if your idiotic team are going to send you to the back? You're only fighting for 5th whatever happens... It's like going out with the hottest woman in the world, but she will only hug you... You'd be frustrated and probably end up doing it the hard way all by yourself ;);)

I think it's just unfortunate for him Vettel and Alonso are at Ferrari and Red Bull, they need a proper number 2, not someone who'll challenge their sith like grip on team performance.

whats up , too scared to debate the point with me so you change the subject , as i said since when has having overall the best car since the season began and being blown off by slower cars ever equated to "driving well "

Look, McLaren have nurtured his talent since he was small, they wouldn't deliberately harm his chances. Accidents happen, it's luck of the draw. For all we know, Red Bull will make a similar error in Monaco?

You're going to condescend and then suggest that? 3 points I would suggest need addressing in your answer

A)So he's got to keep driving for them for life? He's got a contract, which is nearly up. You can leave a job, he can leave his. Thanks but no thanks.

B)McLaren consistently do it, they are the pros at ****-ups. Nearly every season a top ten of clangers is difficult to pick from this one team alone!

C)You are saying this comes down to luck? Luck? Really? Not practice or competence, talent or skill? Why the feck do they not send him out in a Toyota Yaris and hope he gets "real lucky"?

Think he would do well in Indy

Before spouting off at me, you should consider the point i made. Mechanical/human errors are accidental, when they occur is luck of the draw, it takes one man to take his eye off the ball to ruin a whole teams weekend, it makes the team as a whole unlucky. Secondly, Hamilton does have a right to leave, but the team would not deliberately impede his chances, as you suggest. They love him, and despite recent issues, you've got to think that he loves them back. And thirdly, McLaren are not the masters of messing up, HRT are. Ferrari have made numerous catastrophes too (retaining Massa is looking like their latest one).

thinking about it logically why would hamilton want to leave mclaren ,
with the facilities , resources and budget they have at there disposal he is more or less assured of a highly competitive car year in year out , probally no other driver apart from button from the whole field can be certain of that kind of competitive machinery on such a regular basis -

True, i think the OP was implying that Hamilton may get fed up with mistakes made by individuals, which happen at every team, not just McLaren.

He has a right to be angry though, the decision made little sense. A punishment was in order, but i honestly thought it would be a 5 place grid drop, obviously McLaren's past attempts at this have caught up with them. Thats the only reaso the FIA would lay down the law in such a manner.

    ???

Spouting off, you chaps love your freaking forum hierarchy don't you. What you have suggested doesn't come close to being a "point". A point suggests you have an explanation, that was all subjective, or, as this forum would call it, "FACT.".

Luck is a philosophical dilemma, a description, but not a workable explanation of anything.

And perceived love? Who are you, Mystic Meg? How does that in anyway constitute a point I should be paying more attention to? Then again, I must be sooo thick to challenge a poster of your esteemed quality.

<doh> You just don't get it. For my own sake, i will say this once, before my already high blood pressure increases. Look, Hamilton would be wrong to leave McLaren, they consistently produce good cars (2009 excluded) and have Hamilton at the head of the field. If you've had your whole career mapped out for you, then you tend to feel a bond with your employer, if not, you are a mercenary. No McLaren employee would want Hamilton to leave, Hamilton has a sense of duty to feel the same way towards them. As with all relationships (be it personal, business, social) things can get strained, but the trick is to work through the bleak periods. You are coming across as an angry, bitter fanboy, and need to realise that for Hamilton, McLaren is a place he can call home. Leaving in a cloud of dust and angry words benefits neither party.

I am being read as that, what in actuality is happening is that you haven't a debating bone in your body, and in consequence just shout louder nonsensical points until you "win". It's a form a aggression noted in graffito in past civilizations before the internet was invented, inverting natural social order and allowing someone to become socially mobile outwith their genuine persona. Unfortunately, this is what is being read from your words, hence the non-consideration of my perspective and general non-comprehension of my posts.

Regarding your "final" post, which I somewhat doubt will be your last on the matter considering the aforementioned compulsion, I would love to see you call anybody working in a retail outlet or fast food chain a mercenary. Why does that word become important in sports stars? I BELIEVE he owes it to himself to force them to be better, or else leave them to it. He's a brilliant race-driver and there's lots of motorsports. He's muted leaving before even, so your theories of love etc are bullshit before you think them.

It is quite sweet to personally project your 40 year marriage experience onto the situation, however. I mean, good times and bad with a team? When a team gets relegated in football, their best players generally feck off... Same with most sports. Hamilton has his own mind, not some fecking RomCom interaction with life, where Whitmarsh is Hugh Grant, Jenson is Colin Firth and Alonso is that evil slag wanting to ruin everything... <doh>

Well then don't accuse the FIA of being biased then, and i won't have to give a long winded answer that you dislike.

And for the record, the reason i'm not straight up debating is because i'm bored of having my account banned for getting overly aggressive, and you really aren't helping matters.

Hahahahahaha I love you more and more with each post. "Actions"? Hahahahaha you staring through my bedroom window every night are you?

If anyone was ever interested, I'd confess to being ****ish, everyone is to someone. I'd rather people thought I was a **** on here than at my job or among my friends group. You don't matter to me, unless I meet you in real life, we have banter, ie friendship.

To me, you seem like a massive ****, for example. However, as long as you are kind to your friends, live life well and leave people with some good memories, what does it matter what anyone on here thinks about a person? Nothing. That's why I'm not angry, I just enjoy provoking discussion and banter, sorry if you can't handle that.

You really are an arrogant ****. So you think i'm a **** because i have a better grasp of the english language than you? Just **** off back to whatever hole you crawled out of, you're one of these deluded prats who seems to think F1 didn't exist until 2007, the sort you never see on this board unless Hamilton has had a spanking from the lawmakers.
