Last day of the season tomorrow and to be fair, I'm ready for the break now. That said in another 2 or 3 weeks I'll be climbing the walls waiting for the fixture list coming out. Lol I am quite interested in seeing what Hodgson can do with the England job as I rate the bloke very highly and have actually got more interest in a Hodgson led England than I maybe would have in a Rednapp one for some reason. Apart form the Euros, what will we all be doing over the summer to pass the time? Anyone going to camp out at Seaham Hall for instance or up at the airport? Lol I'm planning another holiday at some point with the littl'n and a few weekends out with the lads. Got my sights set on a certain young lady to hotly pursue but other than that (I'll probably get blarn oot anyway Lol), nowt startling tbh but are any of you planning something bigger and more exciting in the next 3 months?
Hate the summer, not the weather, just the lack of football. Not a cricket fan or a tennis fan, just love my footy and hate the fact that i have nothing to look forward to on a weekend (footy wise) Got nothing planned yet but intend to get home form work (Nigeria) dust off the cobwebs, delouse myself and enjoy some good ole British weather washed down with copious amounts of beer. I'm a biker so will be going to the Farmyard for a weekend in June, probably end up totally wasted as usual, it always rains but heyho, a good time is usually had by all. Other than that i'll just be putting my feet up and chilling.
Now there is a question Cest, how to fill in the close season. Her down the road is off to Cyprus in 2 weeks but its home with Osca for me, Euro s, Olympics, mind it will be pre season by the time they get going and maybe, just maybe, a week away at the coast with Osca and maybe my son and grandson. I have a strong urge for a boys week away with my boy, no idea why but I really want to spend some quality time with him and little Joe, my grandson.
We are not going abroad until October, so our summer holidays will be divided between spending a week or so at my mother's caravan which is based near West Aukland; and I have promised my two younger kids (aged 12 and 10) that I will take them camping up the lakes, although my oldest lad (17) says that he is passed all that now, and our lass bloody hates camping!
I have my my friend coming over from Paris for a week in June. going on a tour of SOL as he is a SAFC supproter. In September going away for a few days to York(Monday to Friday) Nothing else doing
I love York mate, and I will almost certainly taking the family there for the day sometime over the six weeks school holidays..
Love York too. Spent many a weekend there in my late teens and early 20's as one of the lads was at York University in the early 1980's and we'd all go down for weekends. Been there for various celebrations and stag weekends (inc mine) and always had a great time. Great City.
Having recently moved house money is very scarse, so we are having three seperate weeks away with family to save on accomodation, culminating in house sitting some chickens for my Nephew in July, and whilst the Olympics are on I'll be going course fishing as much as I can as the athletics dont interest me, yippee.
I hate the close season, I count down the days untill the season kicks back off. I will be doing a bit of fishing up at the lakes at the Bows incline. My little lad is 15 months so I dont really want him on a plane as he cant stay still for 30 seconds, and the only place I want to go that I have'nt been is Vietnam so its going to have to wait untill he's a bit bigger. Might get away for pre season though.
I'm bored already. Saturday's are not the same without any football. Hate rugby. Thinking about it I'm quite busy this summer. My daughter comes home from Uganda on Tuesday for 3 weeks and, hallelujah, she now has a job out there, so (in theory) can support herself when she goes back again on 8th June. We're off to Spain 13th to 22nd June and am looking forward to watching the Euros over a few beers. Will pick up son from Lancaster when we get back, and return on 18th July for his graduation. Going to a good friend's wedding in Rugby on 21/22 July. Then 26th July and 4th August we've got tickets for Olympic football (shh..... don't tell anyone... at St James' Park). Just wanted to be able to say we had been part of it as there will never be another Olympics in the UK in my lifetime. Planning another week in Spain, probably at end of August, but depends what happens with our house sale (it's sold but waiting for a moving date as in a chain). Might spend the whole summer packing up looking round at the masses of stuff we've got! And the new season starts 18th August I think.
when the season finishes i'll be shagging our lass none stop, only taking a break for the play off games, the champions league final and when the euro's are on, i'll still come on here as i'm very good at multi tasking and oh i nearly forgot, i'll still find the time to clean some windows (my job)
Saturdays and Sundays with little stress/ gloom and despondency following defeats - and without the high of the occasional great result ! Pray for good weather and get out on the bike for a good burn to clear the head and lift the spirits !
It's the wifes 40th next week so first things first is getting a doo sorted and a present(Ipad) to keep her off my laptop. Then off for a few days break in a nice hotel down south with her and the kids (boys 2&8) to recharge the batteries. Looking forward to some good weather this year! so I can get a few things done round the house and will just be watching the wee lad play in his weekly grass roots football games along with watching the latest batches of talent coming through in the Foyle Cup.
