Same tripe every single season, and you never achieve anything other than being a mediocre mid table side. Having said that though O'neill is a good manager, so this time it might actually come true.
He deserves it, no question. I do think he'll struggle, even without losing anyone, to maintain it, but that's not the point. The league has been piss week this year, and they were the club that took advantage, that deserves credit, and that credit belongs to the manager. I'd have hated Rodgers to get it, any ****er can pass the ball 3 yards under no pressure, and that's what seems to get him credit! Pardew's Toon have been vibrant and attacking, let's see if they can maintain it.
Well deserved and well done - whatever happens tomorrow, Newcastle have had a dream season. [nsfw]The chavvy cockney ****[/nsfw]
I applaud him and Newcastle - they have had a great season. When people were saying their run would end and they would lose games in a row, they have showed them wrong. I think they guy is a f**king tw@t though...he is so smug about everything. Next season will be different, they will not have Agent Bruce's headstart....... MON and our new team will be firing on all guns.
Congratulations for the award. He has had a remarkable season for sure and this is fully deserved. I would have voted for him too. That said, I agree completely with Teeside here. Horrible smarmy cockney barrow boy. Struts about now like he owns the place. No class and no grace. I'm sure the craas are chuffed today but we all know, as do they, that there is no warmth for the man. Let's see how long the praise lasts next season. One bad run and the barcodes will run him out of town. I'm happier with Marty.
I have to admit I was suprised when he was appointed , so were a lot of Mags. Another one of Mr. Ashleys business decisions pays off. Any praise for him ?
Don't like the smug git and no it's not because he's in charge of the mags, never like him. Wheather he's a good manager or just a lucky one will need to be proven over the next couple of years. But Well done Newcastle for a great season against all expectations.
All done under the cockney mafia they wanted out. You have to admire Ashley for quickly working out the that geordies are totally incompetent, quickly getting shot of Shearer ('can i have £2 million i love this club) and appointing his own man. If he hadn't shearer would have been their bruce.
I happen to like him a lot actually Cest. I think too many people confuse "smug" with "always being brutally honest". He's the most refreshing manager in the premier league as he doesn't walk into press conferences being all cryptive and **** like that, he tells it how it is. Fantastic.
About time something good happened to this club! I have aged beyond my years since supporting Newcastle. I am 25 going on 45 ffs . Hope we keep most of our players although I suspect we will lose Tiote (fortunately he is the most replaceable). We should be able to keep this going into next season although top 8 will always be the target. Doubt we will compete for the CL unless we somehow fluke it tomorrow!
I think Pardew expects to lose some of his top players as Ashley will listen to offers for them and if the price is right will sell them
It would take a crazy amount however I agree. Won't be more than 2 key players though. The times we have sold under MA, the players were either demanding too much on their contract, wanted to leave or Lolerpoo spunked money in our direction for a half season wonder (who is seemingly back on form now)
Funny but I don't remember either of you coming out with such gushing praise when he was appointed? Its amazing how fickle footy fans can be when a modicum of success is thrown their way? Lol I'm sure if it all goes tits up next year, you'll both be back to tell us that he had to go as he lost the dressing room or was spouting a load of ****e before and after defeats. Ah bless us all.
I think Ba (£7m buy out clause); Cisse (will be on all the bigger clubs radars now), Ben Arfa, Krul and Cabaye will be the ones targetted. How many, if any, go is down to guesswork but if Ashley could pocket £70m for all 5 he will do so. That would almost pay half his debt off in one go and he will be happy to oblige the suitors. Add to that European football even after they are sold is guranteed, it makes a fire sale even more assured. Pardew will be given £20m to replace them and your man Carr's reputation will be tested again.
