    GK: Hart, Ruddy, Carson.

    Fullbacks: Richards, Johnson, Baines, Cole.

    Centerbacks: Ferdinand, Jagielka, Jones, Cahill.

CM's: Milner (Can also play as winger), Gerrard, Lampard, Parker, Barry

    Wingers/attackers: Lennon, Johnson, Young.

Strikers: Rooney, Carroll, Sturridge, Defoe (He gets goals when he plays, and Bent has been average this season)

    Line ups for France -

    ------------Carroll-----------

    -------------Rooney----------

    Young---Lampard----Barry--Milner

    Cole----Ferdinand----Jones---Richards

    ------------Hart----------------

France have brilliant central midfield quality. Potentially Nasri and Cabaye are both fantastic passers of the ball, and can pose a threat down the center.

Barry is good at reading the game and intercepting passes, something which will be vital against Cabaye and Nasri.

We also need the fullbacks to be ready.

Cole is my obviously choice for this game. His tactical awareness will be key. I'd also play Richards RB for his great pace in attack, and his power and presence at the back.

Richards is a devastating fullback in attack and I'd pick him to start against France. We need a fullback to aid attack, and Richards with his pace and physical presence against Clichy could be key.

Johsnon is more experienced, but I don't see him doing great against Clichy with Milner. Milner and Richards together seem like the apt Right Midfield duo for this game, and could do a job against Clichy.

I could see Richards giving Clichy a game.

Young and Milner are both good crossers of the ball, and if we want to get the best out of Carroll, quality deliveries will be vital. I could see Carroll causing a lot of problem for their CB's.

The problem is, they have two great fullbacks in Sagna and Clichy.

Rooney's link up play with our midfield and wings could be vital.

    Hart
    Walker Cahill Richards Cole
    Lennon Parker Jones Young
    Gerrard
    Defoe

Richards is out of position but i want to play the younger players with 1 or 2 seniors.
Could swap the wingers with Walcott, Johnson, Chamberlain, mixing them up.
Carroll, Welbeck, Cleverly, Ferdinand, Rooney, Baines, Lampard.
    Foster, Ruddy.

Pilkington has been great for Norwich this season and scored some goals, but his creative skills and overall wing play is definitely not international quality. It's mid table PL quality at best mate.

Cahill was solid for Bolton, had his ****ty spell while he was waiting for his Chelsea move then since he's been there, the majority of Blues fans will tell you they've been impressed. I certainly rate him above Terry and though Rio has certainly had an upturn in form, at 33 he's not going to be featuring in many more competitions.

Lescott, 40 appearances for a strong Man City side who have been defensively impressive this season. True, Kompany has been the star man but Lescott has hardly been carried by him. I'm not getting caught up by the transfer figure hovering above him but I definitely rate him as one of the better English defenders. That said, I agree with bringing along Jones.

The FA's timing means Hodgson has no time to really plant his mark on England for the Euros so it's about players getting gametime and forming a relationship with eachother. Fair enough, Lampard isn't one for the future but he's the ultimate goal-scoring midfielder. Parker's there for his confidence, you need a midfield anchor to be assured and on the back of this season (even counting Spurs' dip) I think he'll allow Lampard a little bit of freedom. Gerrard isn't the same in white sadly, apart from that and Milner in the middle, I struggled a little I admit.

The advantage (shock!) of the Olympics is it gives Roy a chance to see which U23 England players on the fringe could potentially make an impact in 2014. We're a national side in transition so at 2012, apart from the few favourites who we know will be going, I'd love to see as many younger players as possible.

    ...oh and Heskey.
