am i the only person who thinks we should try and keep him , i think he is a fine player who is versitile and gets the goals now and again also colback must be kept imo
No your not... I thought he'd be our best signing, but has mostly failed so far, but i do believe he is capable of better things.
Said when we bought him, thought he wasnt worth it, was hoping I was wrong, I wasnt Loads of people said they didnt want Gibson, but were pleased with Gardner, They both have a good hard shot, that sometimes flies in, but more often than not, doesnt. Other than that, I really cant see what they bring to teams. If anything, Gibson does more, and Gardner holds onto it far too long and gets caught in possession a lot. So I would not lose any sleep if he left, Just dont think he is good enough im afraid.
I like the lad, he has certainly improved but the point is he is home sick for the midlands. There is no point trying to keep a player if if is unhappy so as long as we get our money back and invest in better, I have no problems with his departure.
Personally think he is too slow, Hasn't scored for a while get rid of. Canny squad player but no more than that.
Just average, shooting is decent but apart from that? Passing is suspect fouls quite often and when he dribbles doesn't get his head up at all. I appreciate he at least tried to settle in and I think he wants to play for us because he knows we are improving year on year (almost). But the truth is his head and heart are still in the midlands.
please log in to view this image Possibly not, but if we want to progress we ought to be able to do better.
He's ok but not the best. I can count at least 5 times this season where he's had the ball <30 yards out and opted for a really difficult shot instead of an easy pas to someone more likely to score. It's great when it flies in but it doesn't happen enough for me
My view entirely. Squad player at best for me. If we can sell him this summer we should do so (IMHO).
gardener and colback , good all round players and will not let you down were ever they play in the team, lets not forget the team ethos is changing within the rules of the prem league , not only with home grown players but also wage and income levels ,to come to the fore in the next two years, if any team can build a back bone within the forthcoming restraints they will be a better club and a more solvent club as well. its like a credit card you can have what you want but at the end of the day it has to be paid for in the end and as usual at a much higher cost look at blackburn , premier winners now relegated , who next, keep our feet on the ground ,stay in the prem ,remain solvent and dont chase the rainbow , its a glow when you win and crap at times when you lose , a few glimpses of big stuff is nice but its put into context when you hear other supporters moan about the turmoil thier clubs are in at the moment , and some are in europe , be careful what you wish for ,some weeks this season we have players in all sorts of posisitions because of lack of resourses, think what if we qualified for a comp anywhere heaven forbid.
