Liverpool, Arsenal and Wigan come to mind. Liverpool are just a club i respect (although the whole suarez affair was certainly not good), and when I was a kid Gerrard and Owen were two of my favourite players. I don't mind Arsenal either because they play good football and Van Persie is just awesome. Wigan are hilarious and as long as we don't go down I will be happy for them to start playing well at the end of the year and pull others into it. Out of the Prem I have a soft spot for Reading, Brighton and Yeovil, all good teams at their level with good fans. Last year i was at Bournemouths home game v Brighton and we won 1-0, with the ground full to the brim and 2,500 of the 8,500 there Brighton fans. They took defeat really well and were a real laugh in the stands. As for clubs I don't like...(I would apologise for being disrespectful in advance, but stuff that) - Manchester United. Unbearably smug/arrogant fans, don't like Fergie, twat players (Shrek!) and more recentley it annoys me that their fans moan about city throwing money at the title when the likes of Ferdinand and Rooney cost more money to buy and pay than has ever been heard of in the Liberty. #hypocrites - Chelsea. Plastics. - Stoke. "Good old English big target man hard challenging characters" No, they're bullying tw**s. I say that 'English' bit as an Englishman by the way, I hate that English footballers supposedly are not trustworthy unless they are a complete dolt. - QPR and Blackburn for the same reason. Rubbish teams who throw money at survival and still play crap. I'm really annoyed that QPR will put Bolton down, even if Bolton are hardly the kings of attractive football. - Southampton. Having been exposed to them so much in my location I can inform you a good portion of their fans are so far up their own arse they can re-eat what they ate a few hours earlier. They're like Cardiff, pre-Swans promotion, but maybe not as bad. - Cardiff and Leeds-Oh wait... - Coventry. Sorry, they're just miserable. No idea why I dislike them but I do. - MK Dons. Franchise FC, anyone? - Leyton Orient. My experience of them is one of a cheating team and crap fans. - The Old Firm lot. When are they going to give the drama a rest eh? I'm a bad person. Deal with it D:<
Clubs I like - Spurs - always tried to play decent football when I was a kid, and had some players who were fun to watch, so while we were in the lower leagues I adopted them as my PL team as a way to make MOTD more interesting. The interest waned over the years... I like Celtic, purely because I don't like Rangers. Actually, I like green too, so maybe the kit is part of it. Apart from that, I have to be honest I mostly like lower league teams with old stadiums and loyal fanbases. As great as being in the PL is, I still don't like the media circus/money being thrown around/general "brand over identity" thing that has to go on at the top level, but I'm aware that it's awesome for the club and part and parcel of being in the big time. I still think I'd probably have more fun stood on a terrace in the rain with a few good mates though...
Can't stand scunthorpe after that game a few years ago when we ended up with something like 7 men on the pitch!
Teams i like - Southampton Rotherham Huddersfield Had a belting football manager save with these teams! Also like Torquay - not to sure why... and Stevenage, mainly because they are massive underdogs and are ploughing through the leagues, they may actually even be in the championship next year! (Although apparently their style of play is closer to rugby than football, but hey) Teams i dislike - Manu - hate hate hate Manu, dont like the manager (even though he is class) dont like the players -except vidic- and most of all cant stand the fans! QPR - didnt mind them before, but after this and last season on the message boards iv learned to loathe them entirely. Shrewbury!! - I remember going to their ground as a kid (must have been about 11-12) to 'gay meadow' and conceding 3 goals in the first 15 minutes! Ever since then iv just not liked them, they ruined my day out! >:
Likes - Fulham - always tried to play football and show a way forward for us in the premier Southampton - distant memories of them playing really attacking football with flair players in the early 80's and 90's, had an itchy Kevin Keegan era Southampton top as a kid also Brighton - Always seem to have been up against it but it's finally coming together for them and they're playing with style. Want Poyet if Brendan ever got poached. Burnley - Read somewhere that they were the best supported team relative to the population of the town, and they played some great footsie in the premier. Also they were one of the teams when I was a kid that would come up on the viddie printer that I'd think "where the hell is that?" Forest - Always found their fans intelligent and funny. Great history, played stylish footie when I was young and we had epic play off games against them that will live long in the memory Tranmere - intelligent funny fans in my experience, you have to be perverse to support Tranmere when you've got Liverpool and Everton on your doorstep Yeovil - amazed they're still in League 1, more power to them Southend - Some good games with these Wrexham - soft spot, got a mate from there who is both miserable and funny in equal measure Hibernian - my favourite Scottish team Celtic - my school team wore a 60's Celtic strip
Dislike - Stoke - A mate of mine was at uni there and I witnessed plenty of mindless thuggery, terrible football also Wigan - a non club, they would be non league if it weren't for Dave Whelan as nobody in Wigan can be arsed to watch them...if they went down their already small crowds would almost half. Blackburn - bought the title, didn't exactly play exciting footie either. They then, collectively, throw all their toys out of the pram when they inevitably return to where they belong...and take it all out on one man. Hope they get relegated again and again. Derby County - deluded fans, terrible arrogant manager, ****e football, Bodde coveting **** itches. Ipswich - arseholes in charge of the club, they are underachieving but take no responsibility, warned their fans that this season would be a shambles under Jewell and was universally derided. I note their board is full of the same arseholes posting angry "Jewell out" type threads now. Exactly as I predicted. Hope they sink. Oh and the Priskin bollox. Bradford - Shiite kickers Luton - because they're Luton
Dislike Man U - for obvious reasons Leicester - Thuggish fans with arraogance worst kind Northampton Town - Still get flashbacks to that last minute free kick Macclesfield - Have absolutely no idea why Like Queen of the south - Worked in Dumfries for a while and took in a few games Rochdale - always try - no success and 2000 fans pay to watch dross year in year out Derby - great away trip Lastly Deportivo ****a - Peruvian team mates bought me the shirt for my 40th just cos it has D. ****A across the front
Supported Liverpool for quite a while but lost faith in all " Big Money " clubs as they ripped the soul out of the Leagues . Started supporting Swansea from afar 5 years ago , ready for the worse & ready to support through tough times ..apparently , worse isn't in the SCFC dictionary . Promised myself 5 years ago that , if by miracle , if Swansea made the Premier League that I would try to do what was needed to get to Liberty for the Liverpool game .... oh well , real life a bitch !
Likes: - Arsenal - supported them since a kid - Swans - obviously - River Plate - always liked the name! - Malaga - since I went to watch them in their stadium - As someone else said - anyone playing man utd Dislikes - Man Utd - where do i start.....fergie, keane, rooney, in fact pretty much the whole squad, plus the fans mmmaaaaannnnn uuuuuuuuuuuuu. Too many plastics / glory hunters. - Liverpool - similar reasons to the above....plus their accents do my head in - Spurs - obviously because i support the gooners - QPR - many arrogant fans, and hate the crowds chants; OOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo Love / Hate: - Barca - love their football, tradition, etc - hate the fact they keep poaching arsenal players - Cardiff - direct rivals - but still they are welsh - want to see all welsh clubs doing well
UK only. LOVE - Swansea City FC. "Like" - Blackpool (Entertaining football, humble fans, good away trip), Yeovil Town (Nice fans), Fulham (Good football), Southend (Good fans + good away trip), Burnley (Good loyal fans), Swindon (Good fans), Celtic (Extremely passionate fans) + Rangers (Extremely passionate fans) Dislike - Wrexham (Cardiff arselickers, plastic Welshmen with English accents, crap town) , Stoke (Crap football, disgraceful fans, sh!thole of a town), Liverpool (Most overrated fanbase in the world arselicked by the media) HATE - Cardiff City, Man United.
There are two teams I like in the Prem, and that's Arsenal, and Spurs, mainly for their football and managers, teams I've never liked are Manu and Sunderland, Manu because of old Bacon face and Giggsy, and the way he used to pull the plug an Giggsy playing for Wales over the years, and Sunderland because I can't stand those pink stripes, plus we had a run in with Sunderland supporters up at Blackpool back in 1981/82. Not forgetting my run in with Super Mod Syd, the Sunderland tart, who sucks to the Bluetits! Horrible fans, horrible club, horrible pink shirt, hope we finish above them............. .......
Likes: Brisbane Roar, Perth Glory, Melbourne Victory, Toowoomba Tigers, Sunshine Coast Snoggers, Cairns Crunchers, Wagga Wagga Wombats, Gold Coast ice creams! Sorry, just having a laugh. I only love the one and only Swansea City!
I have always enjoyed watching Rangers and Celtic lose games - I think it's the association of religion with football - I hate it. I know we are not supposed to mention Leeds, but my reason for dislike with them stems from our first match in Ye Olde Division 1 - I was there for the first match (5-1) as a 10 year old - I remember the match being stopped a couple of times as their 'fans' were bottling the pitch and gererally throwing stuff. I agree with Jax The Ripper and his point about fans who think they are entitled to win because of their history - and I put Liverpool firmly in that bracket.... I'll love it if we beat them on Saturday.... I'll love it
Like: Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Everton, Sheffield Wednesday, Shrewsbury Town, Luton Town, York City Hate: Scunthorpe United, Sheffield United, Cardiff City, Doncaster Rovers, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Bolton Wanderers, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Burnley, Huddersfield Town, MK Dons, Wycombe Wanderers, Chesterfield, Gillingham, Northampton Town, Barnet, Lincoln City
Soft spot for Liverpool and Newport county ..dont dislike anyone really didnt go much on Paris St germaine when they were THE money team who thought they could buy succes and blew it ...had a soft spot for the Zaire team in the 74 world cup as well
Bang on stereo love nothing more than a plain & Simple large tub of vanilla and just monch the lot in one sitting, cant move after mind but hey it is worth it
