    I think people are judging Nolan harshly, he's only slow because we compare him with the likes of Jonas and Tiote.

    Nolan gets into excellent positions to score, and his sprint speed isn't really that slow. I'd like to see who's faster out of Barton and Nolan, because Barton certainly isn't a fast player in terms of pace.

    Nolan's faster than Shola, i know that for sure.

    Nolan's pace, i wouldn't rate as slow. He's average paced.

    The only way we could fit Nolan in is if we play Ben Arfa in a wide position and let Nolan be the the attacking midfielder.

    Exactly! And Pardew has already said that he intends to use Ben Arfa in the AM (no. 10) position. So as it stands Nolan is likely to be backup next season because we have players better suited to the other midfield positions. It's gonna be harsh on the man but football is a fickle mistress. Looking at it positively, it would be a sign that our squad quality was heading in the right direction if Nolan wasn't guaranteed a first eleven place.

    Also I'd like to add if we play like this we'd need a new RB in the mould of Enrique (impossible I know) who can defend.

    You think so? I think Simpson is improving as the season goes one (bar a few mistakes) and I think he is at the very least a capable PL right back
    Next season he can only be better, it just seems a waste of money getting a better RB

    Agree, Simpson is progressing very well. I had doubts about him coming into this season but he has developed well and will get better and better. Spend our money elsewhere.

    He'd definitely be in my team, not just for his goal threat (which is important), but his leadership, I really rate him as a captain and leader, he does a great job
