Everton have a lot to play for, they may want to finish above their closest rivals, they may want to do it for their fans, they may have a bit of pride about them, and want to do it for the club, or better still some integrity and wish to be professional and give their best.

As for us, we have exceeded all expectations, we're in a win win situation, you on the other hand are forgetting that your club has recovered from a poor run of form this season, losing Fabregas was a massive loss, Jack Wilshere has been a massive loss, you're stating your season is a loss because you're trophyless, and may finish outside the top three, Liverpool won a trophy, as have Chelsea, want to swap places, I would think not.

There's an undercurrent in your statement we will happily accept mediocrity, we feel we've moved forward, we're happy!

The point is progress mate. We havent progressed points wise from the last few seasons (always around what we have this year). This lack of progress depresses any fans be they man united fans, real madrid fans or York City fans.

You are seeing progress so you are happy. We arent seeing any so we really arent that happy..although it could be worse than right now. We would of taken this position in october for sure.

It is almost universal across all football fans that we are happy when things are improving and concerned/unhappy when they are not. This is the natural order of things and I hope to see some prgoress in arsenal next year. Progress for you next year will probably be consolidating your top 6 position.

Arsenal4life what do you reckon the fan reaction will be once RVP gets fed up of playing in a mediocre side for a player of his quality and pisses off?

Honestly if RVP leaves I wont be that bothered. As you know losing your "star" players doesnt mean your team gets worse if you are clever in the transfer market.

Think our situation is different to Arsenals though, we don't have an individual star play and are strikers seem to take it in turns to go on a run.
If RVP leaves Arsenal I'd be a bit worried where the goals will come from.

I've heard so many different reasons for the ones who left now. It matters not really, as many suspected both can exist alongside each other. As I say I never noticed any problems with cliques. I'd prefer the ones who left were still here (some still are), as the more activity the better. But this place seems to be on the up again now so everyones a winner.

To be honest its each to their own as far GC go, I find them a canny set of lads once you know them. I can take or leave stuff so not much really bothers me. I can understand why some (for work reasons) had issues.
