What does Burns mean by the Europe comment? If it means the Allams are checking European Clubs for potential new managers, who is advising them? please log in to view this image
funnily enough, Wolves have just appointed a European manager from Norway, Ståle Solbakken. Got a very good looking record in the Norwegian league... wonder how he'll do in the championship next season.
Get ready for........................... "The Wally with the brollys black and amber army" more like. Steve McLaren from FC Twenty.
At face value we must be a good prospect for a manager, maybe until the negotiating starts. Just made me chuckle though the "inundated" bit. Sounds like spin.
I really dont udnerstand why people slate McLaren, he would be the manager with the best record we have EVER appointed in our history. I really dont recall us previously appointing anyone who guided two unfashionable clubs to major success - one to their first ever domestic title in the face of traditional european superpowers and another to their first ever european final - and was also appointed national team manager in a high profile job. As for potentials - Claudio Ranieri anyone? Or Luis Enrique from Barcelona B success a la Guardiola is about to quit as boss of Roma after a tough season in which the players failed to get his 'tippy tappy possession' approach. Sound familiar.....?
Me neither tbh, he has only been there one full season and won a league, Phil brown got us promoted in his first full season, both had lucky starts that's all
We had our chance there when he was unemployed, a wounded animal and desperate to rebuild his reputation. Why would we appoint him now when we'd have to pay compo to Twente? I fully expect us to get an out of work manager or at least one with a clause that lets him leave for another club for free.
I can imagine the clock ticking around to 80 minutes in a 0-0 home stalemate and then "Final Countdown" blaring out of the tannoy.
