I think I may be the only person on this board who thinks he isn't good enough and needs replaced.

He is supposedly an attacking full back, but he offers the team next to nothing going forward.

Any time the opposing team mounts an attack down our right I **** myself as I've little confidence in his defending, come to think of it I can't think of any part of his game that stands out as being really good.

Overall this article may seem a bit harsh I know but I can't help but thinking he's being overrated in comparison to the ****e (Perch) we had to put up with for parts of last season and the beginning to this season.

I think he is brilliant except for one on one situations. He needs to get tighter and make a tackle, but he does just back-up.

His strengths are crossing, his reading of the game, positioning and his last ditch tackles. I think he needs to improve the above aspect of one on one's and then he will be the finished article!

He offers a lot going forward, linking up with Barton on the right very nicely and often putting in a few good crosses per game (not so much yesterday) and he is generally very solid at the back. The only annoyance is that he backs off players, but so does Enrique and we wouldnt get rid of him because of that, bad habits can be gotten rid of with training and I'm sure they're on it.

I wouldnt even think of replacing him, in fact, a new long term deal is in order IMO.

Perch didn't sign until the beginning of this season and Simpson, without question, has been one of our stand out performers this season. I do agree that his positional awareness is poor but this can be worked on and he can get better.

  10. He's a cracking player, but just needs better coaching when closing players down and standing players off.

I definitely think he's good enough, but who ever coached him has frightened the lad into standing off players coming into the box.

His performances are generally very good, and you'd need to spend big to get a better option.

He's good enough and no need to replace him.

What we do need is a consistant right sided centre back.

Saylor is a class CB but you never know when he's going to be fit, and we need to sign better than Williamson.

    Samba :D

I'd take Saylor over Williamson any day of the week

Been very impressed with him this season. Not gona kid myself and say he's world class or anything but I'm happy for him to stay as our RB

He was brilliant against Nasri, think it was when we played them at their place.

The two times he's stood out for being poor defensively for me were Wolves goal yesterday and against Arteta. Keep in mind this was against two good wingers but his backing down leaving to much space was poor and led to goals.

Hopefully he'l sort out this aspect with more experiance.

Good enough for where we are at the moment. I would be annoyed if we ended up spending a lot of our budget on a new RB when other positions are more important. I'm happy with him there for the foreseeable future and see how he progresses. He will only get better <ok>.

Agree with Smudger on this too, and the majority of people agreeing with Smudger.

Vastly improved over the season, very impressed with him. One of the first names on the team sheet without a doubt. We could replace him but, to be honest, would be a waste of money.

I reckon he's very good. Not brilliant but very solid and quite consistent, we'd have to spend a lot of money just to get a little bit better and RB isn't a priority.

As RIP said, Samba. He'd be a cut above Taylor and Williamson.
