Problem is, West Ham put 4 past Blackpool twice during the season, with only one goal in reply. They obviously know how to beat them.
Come on The Pool - problem will be their defence under the hoof ball barrage that Hammers will throw at them Should be a high scoring game
Yes, but which Blackpool did they score 4 goals against..? The one which plays when Holloway gets his tactics spot on and the team follow them, or the one where all the players run around like headless chickens..?
Leicester didn't play that well; we were abysmal in the second match and at theirs only Schmeicle kept them in the game. Out of Blackpool and West Ham, I know a lot of people are wanting The Tangerines to win, however we have a much better record against The Iron, so maybe we should want them to win.
The way to beat Blackpool is to press them hard when they have the ball. That's pretty much what we failed to do at SMS (not really sure what happened at theirs). Stand off and let them play and they'll hurt you, but West Ham are very good at applying pressure on the ball when the other teams in possession. Holloway is tactically astute and his team will arrive at Wembley with a plan, but I expect West Ham to win comfortably, they have a very strong squad and with a bit more consistency at home they'd have been promoted weeks ago.
I have a soft spot for Holloway. Just rate his honesty and match reactions some are priceless. His interviews always keep me amused. Hope he does well in the play offs
West Ham will win, they are simply too strong defensively and in midfield. Their points tally indicates their superiority.
By that reckoning Blackpool should never have had a season in the Premier League, and although WHU should win, if the right Blackpool turn up, I wouldn't put it past them to see off the Irons. By the way, like the tick. ✔
I picked Blackpool before the playoffs started....I'll stick with that. Holloway is a canny chap; few would have predicted Blackpool to have beaten Birmingham yet he found a way to do it. I am sure he has a cunning plan for the 19th that will surprise WH...
Whatever Fat Sam says they are the favourites and everyone in the media and their fans expect a win. Lots of pressure and it will be a new experience for most of the Hammers players. Could be their undoing.
Having backed West Ham at 7/4 at the start of the play-offs, I'm not remotely worried they'll let me down. I've got em in a treble with Man City and Chelsea, and if the bet falls down the culprits will be in west London, not the east end.
Yes Lamballana, Chelsea to win the CL, and Man City the prem. Struck a couple of weeks ago before City played Utd, so they were also 7/4 at the time. Chelsea were 15/8 to beat Bayern, but to be honest they have a mountain to climb given the venue and their suspensions. Mind you, Di Matteo obviously knowshow to set a team up to negate their opponents. If they can stifle Arjen Robben...
Would be a lot shorter now. Best of luck! I still have a sneaky feeling though that Holloways team can spring a shock!
Think Blackpool can do this. Pressure is on West Ham as favourites and their players have no play -off final experience.Holloway is a canny operator and will send his team out all guns blazing.
Dislike both managers if being truthful, but Big Sam more so these days - so I am wanting Pool to do the business, but Holloway only plays one way and I think Big Sam is smarter (not by much admittedly) so think West Ham will see them off - hope I am soooo wrong!
