After 2 successive promotions we got relegated twice on the trot and ended up back where we started in league 1.
Brilliant. It w/ fill my cup with happiness. Who wants to be supporter of a team built on a chequebook, with NO relevance to where I live or love? Let me go to Walsall, Yeovil, Sheffield, Torquay, Southend, Aldershot, Tranmere, Rotherham etcetera and really have a good day out. There's where the real football happens.
You mean, do three quarters of a Northampton Town, eh..? You're a bit of a pessimist on the quiet, aren't you. I saw in the Story thread you had Saints relegated to the Championship. To answer your question: I'd be mightily pee'd off, but if you're going to ask that, I'll counter it by asking how you'd feel if Saints beat all-comers to win the Premier League..? See..? Two can play at that game..!
I would say to myself; "The moving finger writes, and having writ moves on. Nor all thy piety nor wit Can turn it back to change a single line..." In other words, if that's our fate, so be it. Doubt it will be though.
That sort of thing just doesn't happen these days. Not so a generation ago. Swansea City: 1978 - Promoted from Fourth Division to Third [L2 - L1] 1979 - Promoted from Third Division to Second [L1 - Ch] 1980 - no change 1981 - Promoted from Second Division to First [Ch -Pr] 1982 - no change 1983 - Relegated from First Division to Second [Pr - Ch] 1984 - Relegated from Second Division to Third [Ch - L1] 1985 - no change 1986 - Relegated from Third Division to Fourth [L1 - L2]
Like to be more optimistic then pessimistic. We will be fine especially with all the new signings we are supposed to be making. Look at Blackpool they look like they are due to bounce back up.
