If RVP, Rooney etc had scored these people would still be raving about them, but because it was Holt they've been forgotten http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxJpIfo6btE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jfXI_JqRz0
Fair enough. Good points. You have kind of convinced me. Maybe it is worth giving Holt a shot at going to ukraine for the euros. On england I cant even see where the potential is coming from. Germany seem to produce 30-40 top class players and we have about 6 who are often starting to age now. I dont see where englands talented 20 year olds are. There simply arent any
Arsenal4life, you're comments are laughable and pathetic. I feel that he should at least be test in the friendlies coming up. Rooney should go, no question. But then who else is there? Carroll has performed well for 2 games, not a whole season like Holt, Bent was half decent before he got injured and the rest are just a waste of space.
There aren't any because we have too many foreign players playing in the PL. The fact we were the first team to field and all British line up for six or seven years and the first to field a team made up entirely of English born players for eight or nine years says it all. The PL is only worried about itself and not the national side.
Great post munky Let's hope Roy and his team have seen more of teams like us and Swansea this season than planks such as Linekar and mills
Now there I do agree with you If Wellbeck, Sturridge, Carroll and Campbell represent the best of this next generation of English strikers then surely we'd better prepare ourselves for yet another decade in the international wilderness.
So, just cause he leaked 6 against man city which actually he couldnt do much about any of them he is shocking and doesnt show any class for playing at international level! Remind me, this keeper of yours isnt he meant to be making his way as a top keeper or hes already there? Cause i would say he's completely hopeless after conceding EIGHT against manure
It's a disgrace, but not a surprising one. the pundits on the BBC are utterly dire. I hope Holt rams it down their gobs.
Check out the comments below though, fans of all clubs are getting behind Holt. I've noticed a sea change recently in opinion for Holt, he's becoming more fashionable and neutrals sort of "get" him a bit more now. He's obviously going to have his critics, you don't get to be where he is without pissing off pretty much every team he's scored against from league one to the prem in 3 years.

Yep beef is right, just spent half my evening reading The comments and the majority of the holt comments are PRO the big man. Interesting comments by a German fan about his national team being picked on form from unfashionable teams. COME ON Roy show some balls and pick some form players (not just holt)
Surely us Norwich fans can at least dream can't we, even if that's all it will end up being. The thing is we may as well take Holt if you look at it from the point of view that we WON'T win Euro2012 anyway no matter who we take. So what is there to lose from trying him out? I know we should be testing out youth etc but surely there's enough space to take one in-form 30-something?
I just read most of the comments and cannot believe some of the muppets out there. I read several times "it's obvious who gets picked up front" and then lists Wellbeck, Sturridge and even Darren blody Bent!! My favourite was the fella who suggested Wes Hoolahan for England, bless him
well of course we should take Carroll, he scores every 500 minutes, so by my reckoning he should score his first goal forty minutes into the final. Or you know, 3 and a half hours after we get knocked out at the group stage.
i also liked the guy who said Holt was too old so we should take the 30 yr old Rickie Lambert, because he's 'basically a prem player now' and if Holt can score Lambert will as well.
^ This is what made me wince too... And then things like "no brainer in goal - Hart, Green and Foster"?????? Scary! I'd really like to see England achieve something but fear it's business as usual.
reading the bbc 'analysis' there, its not just norwich players being overlooked and underrated. first up, lescott - he's been inspirational for man city this season and should be one of the first names on the team sheet. danny mills (that amazing ex-norwich bit-part defender) thinks he isn't international class. and where's michael carrick? he should be starting for england, not just in the squad. its ridiculous to be honest and shows how little football these guys actually watch. i'm pretty sure they just see their own highlights every week and thats it. and how sturridge is being considered i'll never know - he's been truly awful since about september! how can zamora be mentioned?! its all so biased towards certain clubs and players that its unbelievably bad. about half the players they've chosen to pick wouldn't get anywhere near most peoples england squad. as for the somewhat deluded gooner commenting throughout this thread, it seems he may finally be coming round to the idea that holt is in fact good enough to get selected. just as well for him, cos i was going to tear his assessments of holt and ruddy to absolute threads; he'd probably have been crying into arsene wenger's hands; but i won't bother now. what's the point? its so bleedin' obvious they should both get picked!
Funny you keep changing the level Holt should be playing, you said League 1 a few posts ago. Your ignorance is quite hilarious and your knowledge and opinion of players is probably based on who costs most on fantasy football. How many times have you watched Holt? Just when he was battering our backline?
