3 footballing experts from the BBC give their opinions on who they think they should be in the squad. Ruddy and Holty don't even make the short-lists of any of them.

    Need I say any more?

You seriously believe we wont win anything because Grant Holt isnt going?

I highly doubt that Barcelona players and the german national side are worried about facing championship standard grant holt.

    <doh> <doh> <doh> Need I say more?

They're not exactly carping themselves when they face the 'superstars' from Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea either!

Yeah, surely if they use Carroll at all for Euros they will run out of strikers eventually and have to include him. Although he isn't under 24, so that might count against him. And Arsenal4Life, if Grant Holt is Champo standard your defence is League Two standard, as is Tottenham and any of the other countless defences he has terrorised. Considering Puyol will miss Euro 2012, I don't there will be any defenders comfortable facing him. But anyway it was Ruddy's omission that shocked me more. Scott Carson/Rob Green... ...reeeaaalllyyy?

I'm no Norwich lover but if Koscielny, Vermaelen, Sagna etc. are international players and a tyre-fitter from Rochdale looked good against them then maybe he should get a chance.

I've read that, some of the comments are brilliant.

A couple of calls for Stockdale to go and one guy calling Jarvis, Downing and Etherington 'quality' wide men and saying he'd pick Rickie Lambert over Grant Holt

So what? He had a good game. Well done. He has done "average" in the premier league. So what?

He simply isnt of the correct calibre. There is a reason he was in the lower leagues all his career before ending up at Norwich. He isnt good enough to compete at the top level. International football is a step too far for the lad. He is a nice guy and i wish him all the best though.

Yes, international football may be a step too far for Grant Holt (Although people said Championship/Premier League football would be too) but my problem is that the alternatives - Premier League football seems a step too far for Andy Carroll!

You are right he has been shocking this season. Plenty of players should go ahead of him The fact he is the 2nd highest English goalscorer means nothing. He has never done well against the international CB pairings of Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal, Newcastle, Everton, Liverpool etc. We should instead take someone who is young and plays for a big club which clearly makes him a better player.
You are a funny guy I'll give ya that

If he has had an average season every other english striker except rooney has had a shocking season and therefore shouldn't go and grant holt is the only alternative.

And if you think he just had a good game then you'd be mistaken we've had the pleasure of seeing him do this time and time again to top teams

And picking Sturridge, Carroll or Zamora (ZAMORA?) will make them sit up and take note? Give the beast a chance.

By the way I'm new to this board, greetings!

Not just goals that matter though is it mate. That logic would of made kevin phillips one of the best players in the world for a few years when he banging them in for sunderland.

Ok, but who do you pick instead of Holt...? Welbeck? Sturridge? You still need two more strikers for the friendlies...
