Talked to a couple of cardiff fans I work with today and they all seem ok about it....i was appalled by each and every one of them!!! Selling out your own history for a bit of cash that still wont get them out of that league and expanding a stadium that they couldn't fill for their play off semi final!! Even though they are the noisy neighbours and must be envious of our success I never thought they would sell this degree...to be honest I didn't think any football fan would...hell Wimbledon fans even went to the trouble to start all again from the bottom of the pyramid! Shameful!

But saying that do you think our dutch directors had a hand in our orange away kit this season ;)

I hadn't really thought about that angle, but it must actually be really annoying that we're in the Premiership, and the idea that the investors will spend 100m if they do it must make it seem a fair proposition. However, that 100m figure is likely to be bollocks, and a lot of fans are liable to be very pissed off.

It is almost unbelievable to think that Cardiff fans would be willing to sell off their identity for a promise from these foreign investors who have already added to their debt by lending them money since they first became involved with the club. This £100million extra investment if it is that will come with conditions and may well fall foul of the new fair play regulations coming into the championship next season. What happens then if Cardiff once again fail to make it to the premier league, will they then stay or pull our leaving the "Red Dragons" not only with an extra mountain of debt but also with no heritage or real identity.

By the way Jackdan, the orange kit that the Swans wore this season is a throw back to the sixties when we played in orange away shirts. My first ever Swans scarf was white and orange back in 1966 when we wore all white with orange trim.

Recent post from the Cardiff board: "Show me the colour of their MONEY!!!!!!" <doh>

I wonder if they'd be like this if we weren't in the Prem? They are so desperate.

Most of the staunch Bluebird fans that I've been reading say they don't like it but there willing to accept it for the stability of the team , & in this day and age I don't blame them . Since 1992 , Tradition is highly overrated & there's a new game in Britain & it's all to do with marketing & money ... Everyone might as well embrace the horror of it , well , except for us !

I don't get why they are giving up. Surely, it would be better to go into admin, lose 10 points and possible relegation. Start again re build as we did. they retain their history and who knows what is around the corner. I would rather watch the swans in league two in front of 3 - 4000 genuine fans than sell our souls.

I posted a few times over there because I'm simply astounded by their apathy. I mentioned that I understand that they have to consider any offer of that size and got this...

No shame, no honour, no sense of tradition or heritage. Disgusting.

I have updated on their site about taking the hit, like us, Southamton and then rebuilding. look at where both clubs are now. My reply was we dont do that sort of thing, as if to say cardiff are to good to go in to admin. Another was we would put small buisneess out of buisness. Never mind the way SH and PR have taken the p*ss out of so many buisnesses during their time there.

Shaper i have to say you are write. Selling theirs souls to the devil. Will only come back and bite them on the arse.

Spare a thought for Wrexham too, because thats the team's identity that Charlie Chan and co are trying to steal. Wrexham wear red and have a dragon, not Cardiff. If I were a Wrexham fan if be furious.

    Didn't think of that Dilli.

...and the latest, taken from a supporter who attended the club meeting:

"The meeting was told that the change to red kit and Welsh dragon badge was non-negotiable and there was no viable alternative for the Board but to accept the proposals as the club could not survive financially without the investment."

    Gun to head or what?

Cardiff have for years thrown money at promotion, but have failed miserably, it's clear they are following the QPR model, but when will these clubs learn that money doesn't always bring success, just look at QPR as an example, but this recent turn of events, has shown to me how low these Bluetarts will stoop, to sell their inheritance for a few pieces of silver, when they could easily stick a finger up to this, take a 10 point deduction and rebuild with a fresh start and no debt, and have their identity and heritage untouched.

Clearly the club is no longer the fans, but a little play project for their foreign buck spender, he'll turn this into the same as the KL Dragons Basket Ball team! The writing is on the wall, they have sold their soul, and stuffed 100 years of local history that was rapped up with the Bluebirds.

This is a Quote from the KL Dragons website:

    Link:http://www.kldragons.com/aboutus.asp

Clearly the identity of the club is now lost, and will be replaced by the Malaysian Dragon and red, which is a cultural theme running right throughout Malaysian sport, and to me this is something that the FA should look into and stop, as it clearly sets a new president in the erosion of our UK game and heritage. It's obvious that many Bluebird fans are so desperate to get to the Prem they'll sell their soul, but it's my view that the Football League and related authorities should look into this new and disturbing development, because if it isn't then where will it end, words fail me on the apathy of many so-called Bluebird supporters. ............

Dragon, totally agree and couldnt have put it better.

Just to add on a lot of sites in the past Swans fans have been asking would we welcome foreign investment. My answer was no before, but this episode and the Venkys, please leave our club alone. we dont want you money and the trouble it would bring.
