Taken from nufcblog.com but not seen anyone mention it on here so thought I'd post it across.

Basically, since our relegation season we've halved our wage bill, seeing it drop by a staggering 34% in the last year. When you consider that in that last year we've signed 5 internationally capped players (a couple with league winners medals, another with CL experience) and still seen it drop is genuinely incredible!

To give you an idea of where we sit in relation to other clubs (and sports franchises) we're currently in 127th, with a lower wage bill than Bolton, Sunderland, West Ham, Everton, Fulham and Villa (as well as all the expected 'big' teams). Our business model seems so brilliantly simple, I can't work out why other teams aren't following suit? Either way, this is just more positive news for the club and something to genuinely get excited about - whilst we're bringing in top names and great prospects, we're doing it on OUR terms!

    Extract from ESPN Table:
Just converted all the numbers to give a better indication of what we currently pay out in wages:

    Average Annual Wage:

    £1,390,025

    Average Weekly Wage:
    £26,740

    Annual Total Wage:
    £34,773,019

I posted an idea about capping a clubs overall wage bill to a maximum of £50m. It would be upto the club how much of their wage allowence they allocate to individual players but it would mean the likes of Man City, Real Madrid etc. couldn't just buy their way to titles by offering to the most money to players.

There's not a lot you can't buy for £1.5m per year. You could have 30 players in your squad earning an average of about £29k per week.

I think it's possible to perhaps reduce to maximum wage bill to £40m giving a squad of 30 players an average wage of just over £25k per week.

You could exclude U-18's from being included in the regulated wage bill of clubs. Just like the FFP rules with stadium upgrades etc.

He's a good business man, just a pity he hadn't known a bit more about football when he first came to the Club.

At least he's learning something and we're coming to appreciate what he's done for us a bit more.
