Awful article. We aren't an entertaining side, and have been poor at home recently. But surely, even bringing up the manager's position is completely ridiculous. No money in the summer, an already small squad and a change of ownership part way through the season. To get us in contention for the play-offs is a commendable achievement in my view.

Today was dire, but having 3 key players injured contributed to that. I still believe with NP's own team (which we'll see in September next season) Hull City will be a top 6 side. Anyone who says the gaffer has done a poor job has been deeply misled

    Well Hull City fans.

    Welcome to the real NP.

Firstly, I am not here to wind up anyone. I'm gutted with todays result as I am sure you are with yours. We can both pretty much scrap our plans for an day trip to Wembley come the end of the season.

Well, Nigel Pearson is a strange manager. He can get the best out of players (Matty Fryatt, Aaron McLean etc) and can get a solid defensive unit going. We used to be able to take 1-0 wins away from home when we were the underdogs and look pretty good.

However, as soon we came under the cosh his tactical knowlegde became apparent. He hasn't really got any.

He knew how to set up a team prematch but during it he had to hope all went swimmingly.

We got so annoyed with the amount of like for like substitutes. If we we're losing 1-0 he would take a striker off and put another one on when he should have took a defender or midfielder off.

He would never change a formation either. It was always 4-4-2 with a little and large strikeforce.

We we're too good for League 1. We we're lucky to keep most of our best players and Nigel and Shakey managed to find a couple of gems and get some brilliant loans (Cleverley was brilliant).

We all love him for bringing us back into the championship and wish him all the best at Hull but I think he'll be found out at the Premier League.

He would make a fantastic assistant manager IMO. He knows how to organise a defense and can montivate a team. He just lacks that tactical know-how which is what you need to succeed in this league.

Overall i'm glad for him and Fryatt. They have both done decent jobs for you up there.

Agree - lets sack the manager.
We've been relegated and was in danger of spiralling down to the league, sold or loaned out our high earners.
Almost bankrupt and gone out of business, and after steadying the ship our rubbish manager now loses his 4th match out of the last 24 games played.
    Total rubbish.
    <rofl>

No I've just given my opinion that we won't progress with Pearson in charge, based on his lack of tactics. I'd like to thank you though for your well thought out intelligent reply.

Nigel Pearson is a defender, you can't expect to be playing amazing football every week. It's the discipline at the back and the effort at the front that grinds out results, and I am more than happy with how City are doing at the moment.

I was pretty hostile to Pearson earlier in the season. I'm not overly impressed with his substitutions, and earlier in the season it was a big problem for us.

The sun certainly doesn't shine out of Pearson's backside, and he certainly has his faults, but sacking Pearson now, given our current situation would be ridiculous.

When I think about City this season, though, there are four plays who to me stand out for being able to change games in our favour. Barmby, Stewart, Mannone, Rosenior.

Take a look at our Physio's bench, and who are on there.

Sacking the manager is not the way forward. Whether or not we are setting the world alight, we have currently on an away record that beats any manager's in our history, and are still relatively close to the play-offs despite a terrible start.

And even if AP and AA were considering it. Imagine we did sack him...

What manager in his right mind, after seeing Pearson's record here, and the position we currently are in the table, would touch us with a barge pole, knowing we are so quick to pull the trigger?

What exactly is the point of this article?

The owners think he's doing a great job, as do the vast majority of the fans, the chances of him being replaced are zero and rightly so.

Due to our circumstances this season, Pearson hasn't been able to put together the squad he wanted. He was able to get part way there in January, but we've still got a fair way to go. Had our move for Danns been successful then Harper wouldn't be in the team now, had Stewart, Mannone and Rosenior not been injured, we'd have done far better yesterday, had Barmby not got injured we'd have had more chance of turning yesterdays game. These things happen, it was **** yesterday, but we're putting together a good squad, one that I believe will be significantly improved in the summer. Keep up the good work Nigel.
