Does Nolan remind you of Shearer?

    I know he's a scouser and a Liverpool fan, but there's just something about the bloke that reminds me of Shearer.

    The man is a legend already. Hard working, influencial, tough, spirited, scores goals and is the perfect captain.

    Players like Barton and Nolan are the reason i get up in the morning, they are the sort of players that our club has been crying out for.

    He even looks a little like Shearer. Same build.

    Anyone else?

    HWTL and Howay Nolan son! Karl Henry = ****e.

    Not seeing it.

    They were both captain (and therefore leaders) and goalscorers , but think that's where the similarities end. Shearer wasn't that fat either :p

    ^ Yeah. There both slow as well and don't have any pace whatsoever, but both top-players, obviously AL being the best :emoticon-0100-smile

    Shearer wasn't slow at all, he could skin a few players, had great ball control, good sprint speed. He's not as fast as the likes of Rooney and Giggs, but he was never slow. I reckon he'd outpace any of our current strikers, apart from Lovenkrands obviously.

    I mean in his late 30's his pace wasn't really there. 20's Shearer definitely was quite quick.

    Yes i agree about that mate. His last few years were canny slow for him. Still he was still banging it 15-18 goals in his last few seasons, can't argue <ok>

    Nolan has done really well but class wise Shearer was in a completely different league how much would he be worth in his pomp if Torres is worth 50 million!!!

    Yes i know Nolan isn't nearly as good as Shearer was, but i'm talking about the character and what he brings to the team. And his goal scoring record can't be argued with for a CM.

    actually they are quite similar but mrs nolan likes the king prawn with garlic for some reason he wouldnt mention her name but lainya likes a full fish supper and a nice bottle of white ...... especiallly when big als been away on MOD duty
