I know this is not a football article, and if you wish to overlook then please just overlook rather than leaving abusive messages...

On May 13th I am competing in a 26mile hike across the Isle of Wight to raise money for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, who look after people in their final days in life. I have had very close experience with this charity and the work it does.

If you could spare just one pound - I am asking for no more - then please do, especially all you Saints fans from the Island who im sure will have had some association with this charity. Get more information and please donate at http://www.justgiving.com/samwalksthewight

Like I said, if you are uninterested in this cause, please just move on to the next thread. For those who are interested, Thank You!

    Finally....Saturday....COYS!!!!!!

Good luck, mate. You were very unlikely to get abuse, btw. That's what we save for WUMs, not genuine people doing good stuff like this.

I'm bouncing this deliberately. Two reasons. One is that giving to such a good cause is always good, and reminds us to put things like footie matches in perspective. Two, the lad is a Saints fan and is clearly mad. He needs the support of the Saints community.

Sam, will you have a bucket around St Mary's tomorrow?

No, im located on the island PLUS im working, but i have my portable telly which will be taking pride of place on my desk. Possibly the most emotionally testing day of my football life. Thank You everyone for your support, and for those who have donated so far. I am doing it with a group of 7 others and we are close to raising £1000 between us - so every litte really does help!! Thanks again!!

I don't think I'm mad.....however im going for a 4-0 win for saints.....i dont know, maybe i am mad - i know i definately will be going mad if we go up :D COYS!!

Thank You for all your support - i have raised £159 so far (not including gift aid) and as a group we have raised very nearly £900!! If you would like to support me still, with 6 days to go, visit www.justgiving.com/samwalksthewight OR send a text containing "SWTW89 £_" stating your donation amount (£1, £2, £5 or £10) and send it to 70070 (and don't forget to gift aid it!! it's free money from the government!!). Thank You all again!

I'll see you all next year in the Prem ;) :D

Good luck for the walk samgrice, I have been doing the walk for the past few years it raises money for such a good cause, will be quite emotional for me this year as my father died in the hospice earlier this year.
Lets hope it does not rain on Sunday. Good luck to all the walkers.

This is it, I know its a very concentrated charity and it is 'only' a local thing, but so many people have been helped by it - its surprising quite how big it is!
