Are we safe?

Where football is concerned, and especially as a Newcastle fan, my glass is frequently half full.

Great team performance today and it was nice to get rid of that 'not won on a 3pm Saturday blah blah blah' tag.

I have no idea what number of points will make us safe this year, normally with 39 you've pretty much guaranteed it, so I reckon we're OK even though I don't think we've got a particularly easy run in.

Any thoughts...........

 

Massive weight off our shoulders. Winning todays game makes us look likely to stay up. Only an EXTREME bad run of form could send us down now in my opinion

Don't forget, we got 4 pts from the 'difficult' clubs in our run in earlier in the season (ManU, Chelski and L'pool). I'm just glad Tiote's back for Utd!

I'd wait for another at least another 3 points, depending on the form of teams below us, before getting too carried away.

One more win should seal the deal in my opinion. I've been saying it will be more like the magic 42 points this season rather than 40 points.

 

I would like us to at least get to 45pts however I demand 60pts! Europe beckons....lol!

 

I won't start to relax until we get to 43 points. I reckon that should see us safe. But I think we will get there.

Well I think and always have done that 42 is the most that we will need so that is a combination of 1 win or 3 draws because of the lack of any depth in our squad we we will always have to look downwards but fortunately for us we have some good quality characters in the team who more than make up for the mismanagement off the pitch. Well done and thanks to Collo, Jonas, Barton, Cheike, Nolan and Jose in particular. We have W Brom, Brum and Blackpool away so hopefully we can manage this and then hopefully relax a bit......

 

For me the aim is to see if we can finish in the top half, which is very possible.
