We spent money in the past to win, ManUre did it for years etc. let City have their moment of glory, FFP will hurt them in a year or two.

Never bought into the hype about city fans having loyal support sure the hardcore fans stuck by them but. I remember going too city twice before there takeover. We sold out our away section and both times there stadium was half empty. I've seen games this season where's theres been empty seats.

I seem to recall City still getting about 30,000 fans even when they were in the third tier of English football. That's pretty loyal support if you ask me, some people have selective memories, in the late 80's and early 90's we didn't sell out the old 36,000 seater stadium in the second tier.

Success and good performances by good players bring more peripheral fans in, they're not glory hunters they just want to get value for their money - its the same with all clubs.

Well done City, I've nothing against Man Utd but its always nice to see someone else do well for a change. Good luck next week!

We always get trouble at Man City cos of those tossers to the right of the away section.

I was jogging back to the car at Citeh this season and got booted across the thigh by a hooded lad, City fan, running the other way. I was saying nothing and had no colours on, could have been a City fan for all he knew.

I've found them to be horribly arrogant and every time I've been there they bring up our attendances from the 70's/80's. My reason for not liking them.

They showed good respect in clapping our team though.

Not to mention a section of their fans singing where's Ben Arfa gone on boxing day last season and continuously singing De Jong's name.

My Dad was at the 1955 FA Cup final against Man City and he has always had good things to say about their fans. I have always felt that we and them are quite similar, apart from the fact that they have an owner whose first name is SHEIKH..

I wish City all the best this season, as I did Chelsea when they won their first prem title. HOWEVER, the money these clubs have is ruining the modern game, all of the other clubs dont stand a chance competing financially which makes it a non competitive league. If City win the next 3 titles, people will be all over them wanting them to fail, sorry that's just a fact as noone wants to see one team dominate.

I was playing rugby in Huddersfield on Sunday, took a stop in Wheatherby services on the way back and it was packed with Man city fans on their way home. They were all having a good laugh and singing some kun aguero song, seemed like a decent bunch of fans.

There is no doubt they have bought the title however at the time it was an unreal event. A struggling Premier League club being offered hundreds of millions, they couldn't turn it down.

There is no doubting this Man City is a toy rather than a club but boy is it fun to watch! I wouldn't want it happening at Newcastle but the difference is we're in a strong financial position, City at the time were floundering (as we were at one point).

Something I like about their owners is the fact they seem to be preparing for the FFP era, unlike Chelsea. Their proposed training facilities are stunning and if it means focusing more on developing youth then brilliant!

As for their fanbase, they have always been one of the better supported clubs in England, naturally their following has increased but glory hunters are an important commodity to clubs. If we were challenging for the title we'd be picking up the 'floating voters' too.

Pleased for their fans. You can say what you like about buying the title etc, you've still got deliver. A good number of their fans like us stuck with it as they slipped out of the top flight. People can talk owners and money all they want, the fans still remain the heartbeat of any club. The stronger that fans resolve is, the easier it is to progress.
