All guess work but I diasagree. Even if we're top in Jan I'd bet my mortgage he'll sign a pre contract with another club, probably in the far east, US or nearer home.
If we look like we might go up next season and he's offered an extension on improved terms I reckon he 'd take it. That would be providing he was still with us, which I don't think he will be. I'm confusing myself here. 'If if and ands were pots and pans there'd be no work for Tinkers hands' That saying has stuck with me since I heard Pauline Fowler say it on Eastenders about twenty years ago. Funny how some things stick with you. I hate Eastenders and was never fond of Pauline Fowler either, odd that.
The longer the cloud hangs above you the more and more clubs are going to be looking at your players. The longer it goes on weakens your position to keep them. How long until the players have had enough of how their manager and friend is being treated?
Quality players are in very short supply thus the reason the bigger clubs in this league are after the likes of Robbie Koren - if they want him then so should we - simple as. The sooner the Barmby situation is put to bed the better otherwise the vultures will keep hovering for our best players.
If it gets any worse how long to they put in transfer requests? If they do that their price tag will only drop a bit Your owners need to clear this up asap
No **** Sherlock. Though barely anyone ever hands in a transfer request, I can only think of one of our players in recent memory that has done so(for very specific reasons) and I don't think for a minute that anyone will now.
Don't you love all this specualtion! Koren's agents makes a comment to try and see what interest there is and what a result! At the end of the day he is looking for a final pay day and whoever offers the best pay. I would like to think the players will enjoy a break, let the dust settle and see who or if we have a new manager and then decide where they want to be...
How on earth can some fans actually want Koren sold? He won the player of the year by quite a long way, scored some wonderful goals (something we have had in short supply all season) and when playing in his strongest position does make the team tick. WTF are you on about!!!!!!!!!!!!
Although Mowbray may want him...he doesn't have any cash either...so unless Boro offload high earners themselves....I don't think it will be considered..
Completely agreed. I said this at the time. We couldn't score with or without Koren in that time, the difference was that we started conceding when he got injured. That said, he's still a very good player and I don't want us to lose him, he's integral to the system and we don't have anyone else who can do the job at the moment. I don't want to see him go but all this sudden interest in him at such an early stage of the summer isn't a coincidence. Either we're offering him around or his agent is doing, it's not good news for us either way. In fairness lampard was a bad example because everyone makes out like he's 90-odd. But otherwise this is a good post and I agree with what you're saying.
