Sunday May 6, 2012 Kick off: 13:30 St James Park

So we reach the last home game of the season and are still remarkably vying for a Champions League place.

City visit us for the 1.30pm kick off this Sunday having a pretty decent recent record at SJP with our last home win way back in 2005.

    Team News
Apart from Haris, Saylor and Loverman we have a pretty full compliment of troops with Tiote recovering from his minor flesh wound due to his super powers of self healing.

    Stats
    2010/11 Lost 1-3 Carroll
    2008/09 Drew 2-2 Ameobi, og(Dunne)
    2007/08 Lost 0-2
    2006/07 Lost 0-1
    2005/06 Won 1-0 Owen
2004/05 Won 4-3 Robert, Shearer, Elliott, Bellamy.
    2003/04 Won 3-0 Shearer 2, Ameobi
    2002/03 Won 2-0 Shearer, Bellamy
    2001/02 Won 1-0 Solano (FAC)
    2000/01 Lost 0-1
    1995/96 Won 3-1 Ferdinand 2, Beardsley
    1994/95 Drew 0-0
    1994/95 Won 3-1 Gillespie 2, Beresford (FAC)
    1994/95 Lost 0-2 (LC)
    1993/94 Won 2-0 Cole 2

    Betting Picks (Paddy Power)
    - Cisse to score ANYTIME and Toon win 7/1
    - Ba to score ANYTIME and Toon win 8/1
    - Tiote to score ANYTIME and Toon to win 25/1
    - Toon to win 3-1 35/1
    - A draw 3-3 45/1
    - HT/FT (City/Toon) 40/1

    Streams
    To follow

In our prediction poll we basically expect a draw or a win.... Ether of which will hamper City's title ambitions.

On a final.... motivational note Noel Gallagher said the below line in 2009........

"I hope Newcastle go down. There's no better sight than seeing fat topless Geordies crying."

Cheers ACS - looking forward to this one. We've nothing to lse and lots to gain, so I'm hopimng wor lads play with that attitude and just go for it.

For this one game, I'd rather we lose 4-1 trying to go all out for a win, than lose 1-0 trying to edge a result. And of course, if we win then...well...it's tisssue time (Tash knows what I mean).

However, I predicted a loss vs Chelski and we won - so to maintain the record of reverse psychology I'll go for a defeat vs Citeh too (in the hope tha means we'll win).

    Should be a good thread.

In a few ways it should be the biggest game of the season. It also reprents our chance to thank the playes for putting pride back in the shirt.

I'm also looking forward to the Bobby Statue unveiling too.

Dont have a particularly good recent record agsinst them, not confident one bit, but we seem to be tearing up the trends recent years have shown (beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge being a prime example) so who knows!

You're on my 'must spread' list ACS, but THAT is definitely worth REP.

Hadn't thought about it that way, but 'pride' is a great word for this season. It's been a long time since I've felt so proud to state I'm a Toon fan (which is different when living in the south what with all the Clealski, Spuds, Arsenal, 'Pool and, of course, Man U 'fans'). But 'pride' it is!

And as for the Sir Bobby statue unveiling, that will be an amazingly emotional experience.

I'm upset at missing the match and the unveiling. But despite our position and the potentilal impact of this result, I'm MORE upset about missing the Sir BR statue.

A true legend who deserves to be honoured not just for football, but also for the man he was. I hope we win for him more than the potential CL position it could present.

Just been reading their forum to get some opinion and there were about 20 pages full just after our game at Chelsea.

A few posts consisted of 2 words, De Jong, in order to stop Cisse. Simple as this, they won't, he'll find space, give him an inch he'll score a goal.

They expect us to attack because of the 4th place situation, it won't happen. We'll absorb the pressure, and we're only 2 goals down at Citeh due to a penalty and a stupid mistake by Ryan Taylor, we bossed the second half, hitting the post and Hart making a few good saves.

Pardew never goes to attack these teams, he aims to play a slow tempo, piss them off something rotten and then BOOM, we're 1-0 up.

This will be such a hard game but we have nothing to lose, 5th will be ours IMO, that's unbelievable for us. City are class, they have players that could murder us. I do predict a city win but it wouldn't surprise me if we got something out of this, it would be a great way to round off a brilliant season at SJP.

He won't change the team, he can't really. I imagine Ba will play more central with Cisse off him, with Ben Arfa a bit deeper but always there for a counter. Tiote will be deep, Gutierrez just moving across the defensive midfield position also available for counter.

Their defence is class, so, put the pressure on them with the atmosphere. Laugh at every single mistake, roar every time we go forward and give a standing ovation for every tackle.

Whatever happens, I'm delighted. Really don't want them winning the league but whatever, if they come here and win they'll deserve it in my opinion.

Newcastle will lose this one, however Villa will beat Tottenham so it will go to the end.

    Our probable line up
    ----------------Hart----------------------
    Zabaleta---Kompany-Lescott--Clichy--
    ---------de Jong----Barry---------------
    ----Tevez -----yaya------Nasri-------
    ----------------Aguero------------------

I think we may play a high line pushing our midfield and defence closer to congest the play and starve cisse of service from your midfield and yaya will play a free role between midfield and attack .Silva has been carrying an ankle injury for weeks and I don't think he'll start
If Newcastle play without a high tempo I think you're inviting trouble and will allow us to dominate possession which is our ideal scenario.Weve always been vulnerable to teams who attack from out wide and get the ball forward quickly and have fared far better with teams who build up slowly and methodically. With both teams going for the win it should be a cracker, let the best team win and I hope we aren't discussing inadequate referees on Monday morning
We are planning on attending the statue unveiling of the sir bobby,we've been told its at 10-30 on Sunday morning, just want to pay our respects to an icon. Can anyone confirm the timing?

The unveiling ceremony will begin at 10:30 BST, prior to the game against Manchester City which kicks off three hours later.

City will win but Norwich will get a point today and Villa will beat spurs.
