There is an IP check tool on this site for Mods, if I listed the names of people who shared the same IP, you would have kittens. <laugh>

  3. You should not use abbreviations in written English - except when quoting.

I just think it is funny that the spuds have got it into their heads that Dickie is me and I am Dickie, when actually none of them know that I am actually Ensil . . .

I have corrected your statement with highlights in red for future learning. Your post proves you are not Ensil... oh ****, I must be Ensil!

Back on topic, Adams would not be my choice for the reasons already stated. Bould is clearly the man that is already within the set up and knows the players like Jack and so on. If we want a defensive coach as such, then Keown would be the man for that role. He has done it before and he got the very best out of very average defenders back in 2006.

Totally agreed. I think we could only appoint given the track record of each candidate, for me Adams, whilst a legend as a player, has not shown that he's of the required level at Arsenal yet.

<laugh> keep flogging that dead horse mate.

point being, that a quick search of the IP check will show around 20 names all sharing the same IP.

That will be your last comment on this, unless you want to talk about Adams and the Arsenal coaching set up. I do not know what issues you have with Piskie, but do not use this thread to discuss it.

Because it leads to numbskulls like you drawing incorrect conclusions <ok>

Okay, as SuperJack said, this thread is about Tony Adams, let's keep it on topic from now.

For me, Tony Adams would have to successfully manage a championship side first to be considered to be of Arsenal assistant manager standard. Whilst his assistant role at Pompy was a good one, his forays into management since have been disasterous. I think it would be a massive gamble promoting him to assistant with us, especially when we have such a good candidate in Bould, who is already proving that he's got what it takes.

  14. Has Bould managed at Championship level? Has he managed at any level above youth?

Basically we have one candidate that has managed successfully at the the assistant level, and another who has only ever managed at the youth level. Dont really know why that makes the youth manager a great choice and the proven assistant manager a non starter?

Bould has 11 years experience at youth level and knows the club inside out. For me that makes him the better candidate.
I'd dearly love to see Adams back at the club, but I don't think he's the right candidate for assistant. If he did come back, I think it would have to be in a coaching role first, if he proved that he was successful (as Bould has) then he might justifiably be considered.

Personally, if we were to bring someone in from outside of the club, I'd rather it was Keown. He did some coaching with us and it coincided with our defence performing well.

Maybe we could have an Adams/keown youth set up, if Bould was promoted.

Well if Barca can do it with Pep and his replacement (promoting from within) and be successful, so could we (ok fair enough we do not have Xavi, Messi, Iniesta!) Bould is an integral part of the Arsenal setup, he knows Arsenal inside out, I think it is about time he was promoted to Wenger's No2, and ultimately taking over from him..... That way you have continuity.

  18. One might argue that we dont want continuity. Perhaps some fresh ideas are called for, because our style of play and general approach will not win any trophies.

I knew you were going to say that....About continuity :D. I guess if you feel Arsene's era has not heralded in a golden age at the club, and his legacy should not carry on, then you are perfectly within you rights to call for "fresh ideas". Just wondering out loud what you mean by "fresh ideas"? I feel Wenger and the club hierachy are not a million miles away from winning things, and we do not need a radical change, yes I accept we need change, but it should be a gentle evolutionary change. I feel Bould will be his own man if he were at the helm and there are things he would do differently to Wenger.
