Wow! so much sheer speculation and not much to support it. Three things - tyres, DRS. KERS will impact for many races to come. However, initial form of the players is what it is - first time out. Expect major steps forward from almost everybody. Having said that I'd be a fool not to see Vettel and Hamilton are holding good cards.
Ferrari looked like the quickest during pre season testing last year, but were no where when the season started, this just goes to show ferrari hold nothing back in pre season testing whereas others clearly do.
If Ferarri struggle in Malaysia then we know the testing speed hasn't carried through. I expect them to be closer to RB at Malaysia, in or around McLaren pace.
True, but that was due to Vettel's spark plug problem, and after the first race they were behind Red Bull and McLaren until Monza. It was a puzzler thats for sure
To be fair to Ferrari, I think they started with a decent package, but they became obsessed with the F-Duct and lost a lot of ground in development. They clawed it back though and finished the season strongly. This year I think Alonso was short of his best, and Massa was terrible in all but his defending against Button. They'll be up there. Martin Whitmarsh has said he doesn't think he's seen the best of their competitors pace, which people have bizarrely interpreted as meaning Red Bull are sandbagging. I'm 99% sure he's talking about Ferrari.
Alonso posted fastest laps later in the GP when the fuel loads were much lower and at the same time Sebastian & Lewis stopped pushing due to lewis' floor failing. If lewis' floor was ok we wouldve seen Lewis and Seb trade fastest laps to the end as they wouldve continued to push whilst the fuel loads were getting lower & lower.
