You'd have thought so, but a lot of people are turning on him and trusting the Allams.

They are the people who take whats printed in the papers to be true Sadly. The sooner that Nick can speak the better as he is key to all this.

The situation with Adam Pearson is different. AP has had issues with Ehab for months. If AP has indeed mis-guided NB back in Jan then who knows. Maybe the LMA and Nicks legal team may have cooled him down and common sense may occur. Fingers crossed and time will tell.

Way Barmby has been treated is disgusting, think we all agree on that. A Brentford fan just made the point of Newcastle and the way they treated Hughton - wasnt nice either but they dont care now.

of course its not nice what they've done to barmby.. but if their reasoning behind it is to get a "better", more experienced manger in to give us a good shot at promotion.... is it so bad ?

No, just the way they have gone about it. What has happened is far worse than being a bad thing.

Does anyone know if a representitive from the LMA is accompanying NB to this meeting ????? given the circumstances and possible outcomes i would aimagine he would want a shoulder to lean on so to speak.

I think our main concern at the moment should be getting the players settled... Koren has already spoken out about needing clarity before deciding his future at the club... and that the allams havnt talked to the players about whats going on...

they need to quickly sort out the situation and bring someone else in asap. lets hope they've had a few managers shortlisted for a while..

If their reasons behind it were to get a more experienced manager they could have gone about it a little differently. The same with Pearson's sacking; if they'd been thinking that he's maybe not necessary at the club it would have been on their minds for a few months, not just a sudden bang and you're out! All the "no comment" business about Barmby is a little dangerous too, they should really be aware of all the rumours and speculation that develop by saying things like that.

Not sure but I would suggest someone who can speak diplomatically to the Allams should be with him. IF/Once his sacking is confirmed in writing would it then be the time to have a go i would suggest.

Its a mess but whether the truth emerges anytime soon is debatable. If Nick is sacked they may well sweeten the pill with some form of compensation but under a compromise agreement whereby NB would not be allowed to put his side of the story as he would be in breach if he did.
Of course the other option is to tell them to stick anything they offer as far as they can up their a*******s and then speak out.!

no he hasn't, it's Koren's agent who is trying to take advantage of what's happening.

I don't think it'll be as easy as that. NB was doing a good job and it was getting quite exciting looking at the players we might bring in. People might not want to come and work for us now.

Koren said a couple of weeks ago that he was happy to be here next season but the club needs investment in the summer and basically gave the impression that he'll only want to stay for as long as the club has ambition to improve. He actually said it a lot more strongly than NB ever did so he should be suspended too if we're ruling with an iron fist.

The ACAS Guide for disciplinary proceedings give the employee the right to be accompanied to a meeting by a companion, a trade union rep, or an official employed by the trade union.

That's not to say that the club will follow the ACAS Guide.

Is the LMA classed as a trade union?

NB was not doing a good job... lets face facts.. we had some very very poor runs of losing 3 & 5 games on the bounce... then all those draws where we should have won if only we had better options on the bench (allams are saying they would have funded) and lets not forget we all cried out for barmby to have a plan B and change his stubborn tactics when needed.

You're still basing that on the idea that he was offered money just because they say so. They're lying and they've lied throughout. With the players he had available and no chance of improving it he did very well indeed. The fact we managed to win 3 home games at the end of the season was a decent achievement too because that has been a problem for us for ages, including under NP.

A thought has just occurred to me, as to an alternative scenario that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else.

What if the Allams wanted rid of AP because they felt they could do the majority of what he was doing themselves, other than the football knowledge but as well as being unhappy with NB's comments to the media, also felt that AP was at least partly responsible because NB reported to him? It could be that they don't actually want NB to leave but realised that he would walk if AP was sacked and therefore they effectively put him on suspension, if nothing else to give him a cooling off period before bringing him back into to talk about where they all go from here?

That could explain why they haven't officially confirmed that it is a suspension, so that they can "re-instate" him without anybody losing face.

It would also work similarly well with us fans, as just sacking AP would have encouraged anti-Allam feelings but by doing what they've done with NB and then effectively being seen to give him a second chance, they look like decent employers after all.

If that was the strategy, you'd have to admire it grudgingly for it's sheer deviousness because of course none of it could ever be proven!

Alternatively, I could be talking complete rubbish!
