you're right Mark, i can see that too, i would imagine we'll lose Gilmartin in the summer ...has to be either him or Loach imho.
In his interview on the Player, SL says that he is frightened by the progress that an 18 year old JN is making.
I think that this is what we might have expected. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...rious_options_in_Germany_as_well_as_England_/
That is interesting but very funny is how an article about Tomasz Kuszczak, if he plays in EM12 we will have no chance of signing, can turn into a piece against Scott Loach and Lawrence Bassini. Today we have a word associating game. Scott Useless Loach Rubbish Lawrence Grabbing Bassini Bankrupt Using the WOb I am learning quickly. Why do these people have so much hate for Scott and Lawrence?
It must be all the crap coaching Bond is receiving. Something else I wanted to bring up. http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2751973,00.html I'm not panicking about the number of people who haven't renewed, as I'm sure there is natural turnover as far as season tickets are concerned, higher than most people who renew every year can appreciate. And it's not just happiness/unhappiness about goings on at the club. Factors such as education, work, lack of work, change of address and youngsters reaching an age where they are expected to pay their own way will mean that some people can't renew who want to, and some people will buy a season ticket who weren't able to last season. I'm just wondering whether the figures the club has given would point towards an increase, decrease or roughly similar level of season ticket sales?
Hodson, Thompson and Bryan all in the Northern Ireland U21 squad for their match next week. http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2756960,00.html Okay, they've all played for the senior side, but still, for different reasons they'll all be glad that the country is still showing serious interest in how they are progressing.
Well they are painting a picture of a marked increase compared to this time last year. I suspect the final total will be a little up on last year for a few reasons. The club seems to be on much sounder footing both on and off the pitch. We will largely keep the same team I suspect. Mapps to go but hopefully will keep Murray. If we manage to get a couple of decent attacking players there is every reason to be optimistic. Prices for season tickets are, let's be honest, excellent for the level of football. £355 for a vast majority of the ground for 23 games is simply good value. Relaid pitch can't harm. Finally, a lot of people want to see honest and affordable football. People ARE getting sick and tired of the BS that is the Premiership. My friends here in Reading are preparing themselves for a season of shocking refereeing decisions (but very much one way), Ashley Young falling over when their players breath out and probably rarely winning games. Championship is not flawless but you always feel you have a chance. Playing field may not still be entirely level but it is much more than the prem. Plus I'm far more readily inclined to spend £355 to watch players give their all and youngsters coming through than paying for one round of golf for Tevez.
I've looked into this... that was at last season's early bird deadline. This year the early bird deadline is three weeks earlier, while the season starts nearly two weeks later. And there's also the fact that last summer a lot of people didn't renew. All in all, the signs look very good.
4 player's contracts not renewed - Gilmartin, Isaac, Bryan and James; http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2757289,00.html Also in talks with McGinn and Talyor in renewing theirs. Didn't realise McGinn was out, but hopefully he will re-sign! Not too surprised about the players released.
Stephen McGinn is going to leave and go to Cardiff City. Not playing for over one year nursed to health by the club and Malky Mackay will steal him away for nothing. He has done it before.
I am actually really sad to see Tom James leave. He showed a lot of promise in the cup game against Bradford and was working hard in training. He was a good talker too, and always willing to chat. I also notice he was one of the few who would always sign things sent into the club, unlike some. I never rated Gilmartin so have no qualms about that, it also hints to me that maybe we are close to getting another keeper in as Bond is still much too young to be a reserve Keeper. Bryan and Isaac wont be missed too much as they were in purgatory between the youth team and the reserves. As for Mcginn and Taylor i cannot see either of them wanting to leave; Taylor has established himself in the squad of late and will be pushing for a place, especially if Mapps departs. As for Mcginn, he was a big part of the team before his injury and will be as good as a new signing when he returns. I cannot see him leaving for Cardiff, he has his integrity and wants to make a name for himself. He would loose both of them if he did.
Let's hope he has half an ounce of loyalty in him and repays the time and money we have invested in him while he was injured.
No he's not. He's too young to be #1 perhaps, but not too young to sit on the bench, and come in for two or three games if Loach gets injured, suspended or crap (after a few games we would undoubtedly get a keeper in on loan).
I'd like to think so too....but with modern footballers you never know. His agent is probably trying to get the best deal he can for McGinn.
Yeah, he is ok to warm the bench. But he is not ready to play more than 1/2 matches IF Loach is suspended. As he did last season. If loach were injured we would have to look elsewhere to find a replacement for longer. You think, SL was not on the bench till 20+.
Bond has done well on loan, I wouldn't bring in another keeper. If Loach was injured then maybe........ but otherwise I'd be happy for Bond to play. I would think that Taylor will stay. I guess he may ask the question of "If Mapps and Nosworthy stay then am I going to be number 3?" in which case he might leave....but Mapps will probably go. I would hope that McGinn will sign on. If he didn't it would be a kick in the teeth.....having not had him for something like 1 1/2 years now? He was very promising when playing for us earlier....I would like to see him stay and maybe be a first team regular next season. If he went to Cardiff that would be a double kick in the teeth......
