A really nice guy, he deserves something out of the game.

I think West Brom would be a good move. They have some good players and you know that in following Hodgson the club will be very well set up. Many have benefitted from his work over the years. Fulham is the obvious example. I think they are a bit of a more stable option than Birmingham but he'll want to finish off that with a play off victory first. He needs and deserves to be working in the PL having already proven himself with us. Hopefully in time a really big opportunity will come his way and he can get the chance to put to bed the silly souls who say "look at what Pardews done, Hughton could never have done that"

He did indeed. It was like Hoddle at Chelsea. He got that club sorted out from top to bottom. They had been in the wilderness for donkey years. The likes of Vialli, Gullit, Raneiri, Mourinho all benefitted from his time at the club.

We'll never know what would have happened with Hughton. But if we had to base it on his tenure at the club, you'd have to think we were well set for significant progress. its too easy to point to his tactics when we came up. It was needs must at times and he was still learning his job. I'm sure he would have had a more fluent style in mind when we had the players to do so.

Love the man and he's achieved an even more incredible feat of management with Birmingham this year...People had them written off completely, they lost most of their starting 11 and were at rock bottom in terms of morale. Hughton took them through Europe, the FA Cup and the league, finishing with a pride-worthy position in each...

He deserves Premier League football and I'll happily applaud him when he comes back to St James'

Chris Hughton - Sorted the club out when we hit rock bottom. Laid a foundation of stability and made sure our squad contained only those who wanted to play for the club. Top bloke and deserves all the credit he is getting.

Totally agree with the statements on here acknowledging the great work done by Chris Hughton. If Birmingham knock West Ham out the playoffs, that would be just wonderful.

Can't see him going to West Brom, think he would stay loyal to Birmingham.

I can see him going there, and Brum getting McCarthy in as a replacement. Basically just a massive trading of managers between the midlands clubs...
