Davies got sacked/ left Forest over the lack of funds to strengthen his team and make the last hurdle to get to the premier league.

Mcarthy is way out of our league.

Both managers will want money to be available and for the club to show ambition and apparently we have neither.

We'll be in for someone like Megson. I hope it's not true.

That's my worry too. Whenever we're linked with players or managers we never quite get someone of the prestige we expected, it's always underwhelming. Even when we were in the business of spending big bucks we got the likes of Ghilas, Oli, Kilbane and McShane...

We simply don't attract prestigious managers/players, because no one really gives a **** about us like they do other clubs. That's in a normal situation, but in this situation, I really can't see why anyone would want to come.

Lee Clark, should never have being sacked by Huddersfield, was doing a good job there, touted for jobs bigger than ours but his reputation was knocked by the sacking at Huddersfield, doubt he would want to much in way of wages and would have no compensation. Perfect.

Him or Greg Abbot for me.

WTF - aren't the likes of Mannone Rosenoir Koren and Fryatt presitigous enough for you?

There's a few managers I like the sound of but I imagine we are going low budget from now on. Ruling out quite a few names. Possibly Wigley?

They're good enough players for me certainly. I'm not having a mona about the players or anything, just saying that we never get the players we're first linked with it's always someone a bit less known. Only Koren on that list was really an impressive signing at the time. All of them have come good of course. For example Billy Sharp in January, Danns and Norris last summer, Austin and CMS the January before, etc. As for managers we were linked strongly with McClaren last November, and others when we ended up with Dowie.

My point isn't that we haven't ended up with good players/managers but that we always expect we'll get one person and end up with someone else that no one thought of. I think that will happen again this time and it will be someone we don't expect rather than a McCarthy, Clark or Davis.

I think you'll find that happens to most Clubs..

Never saw the facination with Sharp TBH - failed at Sheff U on his return and we have enough small players without getting another.. CMS another overated player with a poor first touch and not a top end NPC player. As I recall we spent circa £2.7m on Mclean & Fryatt - seen as good buys at the time - players a number of other Championship Clubs were after.

I've just had a thought about who, if popular opinion is to be believed, was ridiculously close last time. I can see it being Paul Hart.

He was AP's choice, which probably rules him out......fortunately.

So the Allams get rid of one manager who dares to question their approach, and if rumour has it are looking at hiring a bloke who has a repuatation for speaking his mind against the owners? Have the Allams had a bang to the head or something?! Clowns.

But surely less unsettling for each player than having to move house and play for a totally new manager whilst they settle into an entirely new squad where they've hardly ever played with anybody before?

The 47-year-old Scot has experience of success in the Championship and worked closely alongside City’s performance manager Darren Robinson, a close ally of vice chairman Ehab Allam, during a two-year spell at the City Ground.

Is Darren Robinson building a power base. Who is he?

So, you're calling the Allams clowns, over a rumour, that you know has zero substance, and in all likelihood isn't true, for all the reasons stated. You are a ****wit.

Can I also point out, all the comments about there being no money, the Allams it seems, were willing to pay for a striker, to get us promoted, because they want us to be successful, and it was turned down. Either put the pitchforks down, or do the rest of us a favour and stab yourselves in the ****ing head with them, ta.

I don't know how anybody can defend the Allams at this moment in time, we've probably just lost a manager that was one of our own and the best football director we will ever have, I think you stepped on a rake and got a blow to the head, or maybe a pitchfork?

We need all parts of the story.

If it's come down to the fact none of them can work together then maybe's it's for the best.

I am gutted about Pearson and Barmby though. I would have liked to see what they would have done over the summer and next season.

Because Im not some mindless drone who reacts to the first thing said to him? Most of the crap written on here in the past few days was rumour or speculation which people are reading as facts.

I admire Nick as much as anyone, but honestly, he wasn't up to the job, and the club is more important to me than he ever will be. If the Allams comments about being prepared to fund a striker to get us promoted are true, then, seriously, Nick was way out of his league being a manager.

Adam? Sure, great guy, but the most important thing to Adam is, Adam. Rightly so, I will not feel sorry for him, even though I will be thankful for what he's done for us. He is not, and never will be more important to me than the club.

Short version, no one is bigger than the club, and before anyone suggests otherwise, no one, including the Allams, have suggested they think they are either.

How can you say he was not up to the job when the dimwitted owners haven't given him the opportunity to prove himself? For me the Allams comments about money being available sound like a smokescreen for their actions. Sure the Allams have pumped in a ton of money to the club but who is to say they won't bleed us dry in return for that now?
