Smashing player Podolski. I wonder how they'll use him though, he insists he only wants to play up top, yet he and RVP are similar in a lot of ways, strong, physical and left footed. RVP is light years ahead of him as a finisher, of course, but that is no slur. Personally, all this says to me is RVP has said he's not looking to sign a new deal, and Arsenal are trying to keep a lid on it and get the best deal possible for him.
Yeah, That's his best position IMO, but he clearly told Cologne he wasn't happy there. He's outstanding for Germany there, of course. I've never seen him as a natural striker, more of a 'forward', if that makes sense?
I think RVP has already been talking to other clubs, a shame I'd like him to stay at Arsenal instead of doing a Nasri, Fabregas etc.
To be fair to him mate, he is arguably the best pure goalscorer on the planet. He's stuck by them, I think partially through loyalty due to his injury issues, but age is the factor. He could go Barca , Madrid, Juve (it'll be one of those 3), and he's nailed on to have a trophy in the cabinet within 3 years. Sadly, Arsenal can't offer that, and he'll be nudging 30, and trophyless. I think if he leaves, like Cesc, it'll be for all the right reasons, not greed, but ambition.
In regards to our scouting network I don't know how far it branches out, I think cheif scout is Pop Robson or someone and he has been watching Hoillett recently apparently. We must have some abroad because we brought a young French striker over to play in our academy Mikael Mandron, apparently a talent breaking into the reserves atm.
Agreed mate he is outstanding, I could see him going to Madrid because of the Ozil/Khedira connection, which would make them even more of a force next season. If he goes to City they'll end up with probably the best defensive pairing in the world!
MoNsMush what you think of this someone has just posted it on the SMB Papa Diop of Racing Linked with us in the Spanish press, ther game starts in 5mins if anyone interested in watching online. .... Is he any gd?
PSG did not exist before 1973 so have come a long way in a short time. they were a merger of Paris F.C. and St Germain F.C. and play at the Parc des Princes. My mate from Paris follows SAFC and Toulouse as his family are from down that way. It is in the Languedoc and does some lovely wines
Mush I guess I've not seen as much of Giroud as you, and I can't quite get to grips with player pricing either. Although at £30m, considering the trash Arsenal have acquired (Gervinho, Chamakh) I am struggling to see anybody who's going to make that kind of investment in him, especially since Arsenal have now signed Podolski. It's good to see people taking an interest in overseas footy though, because some English fans are blind, thinking they are watching the only football league worth watching even though it contains absolute trampsh!t like Stoke and Wolves. I'd love to watch more of the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 but she's moving in with me soon so I reckon aside from my 1/2 games through the week, my knowledge of football is going to nosedive coincidentally with my newly acquired expertise on Come Dine With Me trivia. Sorry about your bet by the way. My team have let a lot of people down recently.
